I have 26 allocations with some starting production as soon as week three. The first batch of cars will come from Germany. The new plant in MX will start building US cars in April 2019.

For reference, pricing and ordering guides were posted by Bimmerpost at https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1555055

Once the Mexican plant is operational, will all 330i allocations come from there?

ED is virtually never available right off the bat for new models. I seriously doubt BMW is going to completely eliminate ED for the 3er. It’s their most popular model. If they end ED for the 3er they might as well end the program completely. That would be a very bad move for them. Not having ED available for the 3er would also be a very bad move for them. I don’t believe BMWAG is that stupid. I sure hope they’re not.

How will they do ED when US cars will be assembled in Mexico?

Easy...they build them in Germany; where they still have plants that are up and running for that.

Early allocations like yours aren't permitted into the European Delivery program, as tturedraider mentioned.
So it's not unusual for that pricing to be unavailable at the moment.

Besides, ...this gives more time for BMW NA to think about other ways they might be able to
reduce that discount even further.

FWIW, I just toured the BMW Museum and BMW Welt here in Munich last week. I spoke with a few BMW Geniuses there and they said European Delivery will be available on the G20 for US customers. The Mexican plant will produce the majority, but you will be able to order from Germany if you pick it up in Germany.

I even asked BMW USA on FB after and they confirmed it as well.

That's precisely how it's going to be done. This was always the way to get a German built 3-er and avoid South African plant if you wanted to. Do a European Delivery.

^this. It’s a virtual certainty that not all U.S./North American bound G20 3ers will be built in the Mexico plant. Just as not all were built in the South African plant. BMW will have a production mix that continues to include U.S./NA bound cars built in Germany.

I use to just have my dealer grab a AG allocation instead of a SA allocation.

The same way they did it when US cars were assembled in Germany and South Africa. Not all US cars will be coming out of Mexico

When I purchased my ‘17 340i M Sport, I was told the M versions come from Germany, mainly due to the parts are more common on euro spec cars. Basic 330’s were Mexico and SA

M3 was produced in Germany, most US 340s were not, including mine. M Sport is not the same as a full M car.

Nothing wrong with the SA cars and I'm sure it'll be the same for the Mexico cars once they are up and running.

That's the 1st I've Heard of that. All other threads/posts on this subject lead me to believe that only the "lesser" 3 series were going to be built in Mexico. :

Either way. Definitely not gonna be for me
