First time noticing this, but wtf is wrong with the side of the car? Is that a knockoff s-line badge?

Some nice color combinations available!

Orinoco Pearl over Tartufo

Metropolitan Blue over Tartufo

Violet Blue (non-metallic) over Ivory

Boston Green over Ivory looking super sharp too! I think this is my favorite.

they have those badges in non US regions. I think canada has them too.

They had them on the f30 also... where it would say like "sport", "modern", "luxury". Not sure if they do it for sport/luxury now.... but its a tiny little M logo on m-sport (which is terrible imo)

BMW needs to invent chameleon paint option that changes color on demand. It's tough to go through fifty shade of grey with that many color options. G20 looked nice in all colors!

Java Green with Tartufo Brown. Shouldn't work, this combination, but it really does. Nice.

Jerez Black and pair it with the Fjord Blue full merino interior. When are they going to get Spartanburg upgraded to offer Individual options?

Hmmm. I select MSport 3 Sedan 330i and only frozen is one option in serial paints. When I go to another model; M850i, it presents a large number of frozen serial and special paint options.

Not that standard colors aren't enough for me personally but what is the reason individual colors cost more? They'e not 12 layer hand polished Lexus LS paint or anything crazy like that. So I doubt it costs them more to paint it funky green as opposed to regular color. I must be missing something from the production costs perspective or BMW can always find an idiot to pay 4K for special paint on a 50K car

Yea I think individual is 5K for paint at least. Some pricing details would be fantastic.

From what I've heard, the custom painted cars are done in a separate factory from the main line. This was for German built cars, no idea about US or Mexican plants.

Does anyone know the difference between the extended and full merino leather options? I wish one of them would at least wrap the sides of the center console tunnel and rid the interior of that cheap ass hard plastic material that runs down the sides by your knee/thigh/hip and under the center arm rest. This is one of the only things giving me a hard time buying the m340i when it's out.

I'm guessing it's due to the fact that their standard painting stage in the factory is all robotic and it would cost them a lot of production line time ($) to flush and clean the entire system for a different paint color. They do the Individual paints in a separate facility, although I'm not sure if it is fully automated like standard production or done by experienced employees by hand. Either way, when someone wants some crazy one-off color, additional time and effort is involved to make that happen. In short, it is what it is.

I'd be cautious on that one! Looks like a lighter lime green in that configurator image, which does indeed look okay, but in real life, Java green is a much brighter, almost neon green color that is pretty intense. I'd be hesitant to pair it with the Tartufo interior, personally. Java green is almost too much on a M4, so I honestly think it might look out of place on a 4-door sedan. Just my opinion, obviously.
