Hello Bimmerpost,

I know I'm posting this in the 4 series subsection, so there might be some bias, but I'd like to hear your honest opinion here. I'm currently looking to buy a new BMW and I'm torn between a Z4 40i G29 and a 430i LCI G22. I'm looking to order a new car for later production, I'm not talking about existing vehicles in stock. The price of both configurations is about the same (give or take). Has anyone here faced a similar decision before?

For me, they’re apples to oranges.

Z4 is a spare fun car and 4 is a more rounded daily driver.

I say get them both!

Strangely enough in my country it is… But yeah, I’m leaning in the direction of the Z4 now too. I think it will have a better resale value with that 6 cylinder and I have never owned a BMW with a 6 cylinder so maybe it’s time now.

Sadly that’s not an option given the price of these things. But I might get a spare car from my dad (albeit not a BMW), so I’ll probably get the Z4. Thank you both for your opinion 👍

As long as there’s another car to drive when you need it, go Z4 all the way.

2 seaters without much storage are hard to live with as your only car. I know from experience from before I became a car hoarder 😂
