"Hot Button" for Drive Recorder?

Using my free trial for Drive Recorder, and I can see it being very worthwhile if involved in an accident.

I tried to set one of the preset buttons (1-8) to start a recording, but it wouldn't let me.

I thought it wise not to have to navigate the menus to start a recording if involved in an accident.

when you press and hold the panoramic button it starts recording

Or put it as a widget on your iDrive screen. Easy to activate.

I managed to add it as a shortcut button. I think you need to go into apps, select but don't open the drive recorder app and hold down a button.

Then I realised a long press down on the camera button started the recording instantly so removed the shortcut button.

Does anyone know if cars without surround view option come with ICAM2-ECU.

This is the surround camera module isn't it?

I think they don't. But for the X3 you can retrofit I understand so might be possible.
