Hey,

So I just got a 2024 330i M Sport, and ran it for about 3,000 miles. I’m coming from a Veloster N, so to me, the car sounds a little bit too quiet. I first got an AWE track edition but had to uninstall and revert back to stock because the drone was SO bad. Now, I’m looking for a new exhaust that is free of any drone. I really like the Dinan axleback with valves even though it’s quite pricey ($1,500), but was not sure if it had any drones or not. Can anyone confirm whether or not the Dinan axleback for 330i has drone? Also, some sound clips would be great!

Dinan does not have any significant drone; its a much milder exhaust than the AWE track.

can you elaborate on the awe track, what had is SO bad, i don’t want to pull the trigger yet

the AWE track edition is quite literally ridiculous. It makes the car sound like a 20 year old riced out honda civic. The drone is quite so bad to the point where you can’t have conversation with a passenger going 20 mph down a local street. I always got a migraine after driving it for more than 5 minutes. I could literally see and hear things inside the cabin (sun visor, cup holder, etc…) shaking, especially for 2-4k RPM. Do not get it

AWE Track is a straight pipe system. These types of systems are aggressive but come with a drone and raw unrefined sound.

I wonder why the dinan or valvetronic systems with the valve open (making them straight piped out the passenger side) don’t have the same result?

I guess with the pass side wide open there’s still enough flow out the muffled drivers side to cancel out the drone and vibrations?

Is this engine /chassis just harder to “tame” with exhaust sound vs the smoothness of an I6?

My b46 mini with DP and resonator delete didn’t have any of those problems.
