BMW m340iX G21 upgrade to G3X M-performance brakes

Hi

Upgraded my front brake setup to the G3X M-performance calipers and 395mm rotors.

This is a bolt on upgrade, you only need to modify the dust plate a bit with a screwdriver.

Also upgraded the rear rotor to the dotted version.

Front calipers partnumber: 34106880679 + 34106880680
Front rotor partnumber: 34106887657 + 34106887658
Rear rotor partnumber: 34206896227 + 34206896228

Big thanks to blau3er for supplying the calipers and pads!

And yes, the car needs a wash

Awesome!

Looks great and I’m fairly certain that you are the first G2x owner to do the 395mm front upgrade from G30 G11 etc.

So much better than the M Performance option!

Looking very good!

Did you code the brakes in the software after fitting?

How is the pedal feel and the balance of the car when braking?

keep up the good work

Thanks!

No coding, and the brake feels 90% the same, hard to tell when not trying the car vs a stock M340 back to back. Balance is good, no complaints.

Looks great.
Almost did this myself using those calipers from the same seller but have decided to hang back for now & go 374mm as I want to keep the weight down.
One question why is it only the rear disks have the slots??

Thanks!

I was considering the same thing, saving weight! - But again, it is a daily driver, and not at track weapon

OEM discs, and it seams that I cannot get slotted front discs, or I was not able to find the correct partnumber.

Very nice & gonna seem excellent after it got dirty 😁
I have also swapped p&p 850i brakes, 395mm but plane discs.

Wondering if M8 setup will be bolt on?

M8 would not be bolt on - it would require a custom adapter to mount the caliper onto the hub.

The ///M discs bolt on, but the retaining screws do not line up.

If you want ///M discs, then you can fit X3M / X4M discs to your car with the 395mm caliper you have - however, again, the retaining screw doesn’t line up.

Anybody tried to fit rear g30 370mm brakes?
I have opportunity to buy full set from 540i, it's a 374mm front and 370mm rear
Front is no problem, but I'm wondering if rear also fits

Very nice. Did you guys have to upgrade the brake booster and master cylinder as well? Heard pedal still feels mushy or the same if you don't.

Did you find torque specs for the calipers? If you did where did you find the spec so I can find the number for my brakes. (Blue M brakes on the m340i)

Can someone confirm that you need 20inch wheels to run the 395mm setup ? I already have 374mm on my car and I don't see how bigger rotors could fit in the 19inch wheels..

I've only ever saw it being done with 20" and even then it's supposed to be tight.

*edit* reply was for the rear set up of 370mm.

No negative brakepedal feel, if any the brake pedal feel is even better, and with 4 people in the car the amount of pressure to stop does not change, I'm very happy with the setup.

I have 19" inch, not much room left but it fits. But I think it comes down to wheel design.
