Do aftermarket intakes hurt the turbo compressor?

Hello!

From what I've heard aftermarket filters/intakes put the turbo at more risk of being scraped by sand and impurities like this in the air.

I want to get opinions from people who have been running aftermarket filters/induction kits and if they had problems with the compressor part of their turbos or heat soak?

I'm looking to get an MST intake for my car, which has this little heatshield around the cone, so I presume is better for heat soak.

What are your opinions/experiences? Would be much appreciated!

hundred of thousands of users have an aftermarket intake, I have never heard of a single time it caused damage to the engine

I've got the MST intake on mine. Heat soak is vastly reduced thanks to the heat shield that covers the filter.

I'm not sure it delivers any gains but it certainly sounds like a beast
