The M5 is now the size of a 7 series of years ago so it only makes sense that the M3 starts to fill in more of the old M5 size. I would guess with the added size, addition of AWD, the ZF slush box, new particulate filters and tech that the M3 will be pushing 4000 lbs. |

Was that actually said? It seems highly unlikely that a 503 hp car that weighs about 2 tons will be anywhere as fast as some of the absurdly fast cars out there right now. 720S is like a 9.9 stock car, turbo S is like 10.1, Pista is 10.5, Taycan turbo is 10.5 and the turbo S 10.3, a a Tesla S is 10.6, even a Carrera 4S runs 11.1, a Tesla M3P is 11.3. Seems more like extreme hyperbole but given how underrated these cars are from BMW it should move.

As for the cars you list, I think the Tesla and P-cars qualify as everyday cars but not the Macca and Fezza. |

I think he wasn’t thinking clearly but he wouldn’t have said the fastest “everyday car” there is if he only meant M4. That make zero sense.

The MZF8 xdrive M3 will be over 4000lbs, if you look at the Alpina xdrive B3 with the S58 it's (1860kg) 4092lbs, I doubt the M3 with enlarged body work and wider track will be lighter so maybe closer to (1900kg) 4200lbs.
I think the published 0-62 will be 3.6 or 3.5 in the US to 60.

RWD 3780 lbs That’s good numbers. Hopefully target was reached. So the AWD will be in the 2 seconds, that’s a crazy jump from the F8X. I can’t believe really how fast these cars are now. Sub 3s, nuts. |

EU? As I was quoting that not DIN for the B3 if that is what you mean by base weight, if DIN which includes 90% fuel but excludes the 75kg for luggage and driver then it'll be 1840kg EU or 4048lbs before options.

The rules for weight changed. Manufacturers used to be able to quote the lightest possible configuration. Now weight has to be done with a standard configuration. So generally speaking quoted weight is not the lightest, nor the heaviest but somewhere in between.

I find it rather amusing to listen to people talk about RWD vs AWD and the weight issue. This car is a big heavy bloated pig. At this point what difference does it make? Is anyone delusional enough to believe going for the 3800lb version rather than the 4000lb car means you're going for the "light" one?
