Product Recall for G20

Hi all

Just got this link for a product recall for the G20.

Apparently, there may be a fault with the steering track rods.

https://www.productsafety.gov.au/rec...z4-my2018-2019

Diabolical way to find your car from a VIN list which is not even in alphabetical order!!

You’re right, that was a painful way to check if your car requires a recall. They could have helped immensely by splitting the list into different models. Ho hum.........

Fortunately for me, my VIN is not on the list.

Thank god mine is not on the list
There is a quicker way to check it via the below link either enter your VIN or Rego and it checks the database

From a post on a similar thread on the U.K. forum detailing what build dates are affected.

I wonder if that VIN list also represents the order the first G20s were built. I've got an 11/2018 and on the first page. I've always wondered how new off the production line it was.

Good point AustraliaG20. However, still no excuse for not listing the VIN in alphabetical/numerical order. Particularly, as there is no search function possible.

Can you not just open the PDF file and do Control-F to search the document for the last 5, 6, or 7 digits of your VIN. That is what I did.

Else you can go to: https://www.recall.bmw.com.au/

Unfortunately, mine needs to go in.

Thanks Blackshadowkiwi

That's much easier using the BMW link! Luckily mine is a bit newer and not affected.

As I said in an another thread, always wise to wait a while before buying an early car in any new series. Found out the hard way with my previous very early build F30

My car is affected and I was told by my local dealer than they'll get in touch when the tie rods arrive from Germany. Been a month and haven't heard any news as yet.
