But then you're still stuck with an SUV that offers not much extra practicality over a comparable station wagon and drives inherently worse than a comparable station wagon, which is basically an only slightly heavier sedan that it is based on.

And if you choose the M3, you're stuck with the big schnoz.

G'dam, why did they have to make an M3 Touring out of the ugliest M3 to date yet? I know why, BMW M is ran by an ex-Audi guy!

Interesting
Wagons are cool in their own way
Everyone and their grandma has an x3
Might have to rethink the G80 purchase

If it comes to the states, I don't know if that grill could stop me from getting one.

I think once the camo comes off, and the final product is revealed that many will change their mind. Let's just hope they bring it over.

Would consider over X3 or X5 m's. I don't think Bmw would undermine a very profitable SAV/SUV market in the USA

It's not confirmed.... a prototype is confirmed.... There are many prototypes that have not come to market especially for the US market.

Yes, these type of wagons are capable. I have very fond memories sitting with my dad and cheering on Rickard Rydell in BTCC in his wagon

I fondly remember pegging my 850R wagon with my golf clubs and my Golden Retriever in the back.

Please please have a version that comes with the manual, even though the grill might be ugly af but we'll at least have manual M3 wagons with 450+hp

Gah

I waited 20 years for this to happen and they only do it after they ruin the looks of the car with a pig nose

I'm still gonna build my own F31 based one.

Willing to bet this will NOT make it stateside..

if the M5 wagon couldn't make it, while E63 wagons were available..I doubt this will...since I dont see too many C63 wagons or RS4 Avants here..

While I'm happy for the rest of the world, I won't hold my breathe for a US release.

There might be a chance the M3 wagon comes to the US so BMW has something to compete with Audi RS6 and Mercedes E63. Might steal sales from them since M3 is a size class smaller (most people don't need the additional cargo room) therefore, handle better and would be more affordable.

Nobody likes/wants/needs/buys wagons here in the US. That wagon better stays in Europe.
That happens to be a matter of opinion...Sone cars look great in wagon...cts-v, magnum, amg e63, and even

yep.. and if it does it'll be north of $100k and no one will buy it and then BMW will say "see.. you said you wanted one, we gave you one but you didnt buy it.. just get the x3m like we told you to because they are built there"

They are very rare just as the G81 will be if offered here. Adds to to the coolness factor

I hope it makes it since it brightens my day every time one of these cross my path.
