I would be shocked judging by this video. I am guessing the launch vehicles are indeed Pure. As someone that is sensitive to driving inputs and owns almost entirely manual transmission vehicles with hydraulic steering, I am against it, but I am happy that the tech is coming along to keep the third pedal. So mixed, if that makes sense.

It would be a great accomplishment, if it can be done w/o loosing feel, I will applaud the engineers and company that can accomplish that task.

The words from lemetier above seem to indicate that the 48V mild hybrid system is not there in the pure but something else is and it sounds like clutch by wire can be that something.

Would you need the 48V hybrid to run electric turbos for anti-lag?

Even future plans to adopt such technology would surprise me, to be honest. BMW doesn't seem to be committed to the manual transmission much longer. Only the M2, M3, and M4 will carry the torch once the F22/F23 end next year. It would not surprise me if the MT does not make it to the following generation of these products. Even mild hybrid technology would appear to have a short lifespan at BMW given what we know about their plans to prioritize PHEV/BEV drivetrains for the next generation of vehicles like the G70 7 Series, G60 5 Series, U11 X1, and the new X8.
We can keep it theoretical.

- AEB

- Anti-Stall required for AEB in conjunction with MT

- A type of eClutch is necessary for Anti-Stall

G8x is available with a MT and has AEB as standard.

Not sure, but I’m sure that electric turbos is not something unique to the MT...

48v is required for electric supercharger(s). That would require the S58 to be capable of tri or quad FI components and that's unique to the B57 diesel. Now if the S58 was based off the B57, instead of; oh wait it is.

That’s actually really cool to have AEB on an MT car. Garage ports will be saved...guaranteed

Nope. I'll give a hint:

Interesting to know how over and underspeed protection is achieved? The clutch stays open until you shift to another gear? Good news for you moneyshifters out there.

Auto Rev Matching is OFF
DSC is OFF

Without a decent amount of seat time in a F8x M2/3/4 6MT, it's going to be difficult to pick-up.

Is the clutch a mix of hydraulic and electric?
What would be the main difference between the F80 clutch and G80 clutch?

Theoretically, electro-hydraulic. Allows for either a basic anti-stall clutch override or full clutch-by-wire. The first retains a hydraulic link from the pedal to the clutch master slave, second does away with that link and substitutes a fully digital connection between the pedal and slave. Both allow flexibility with suppliers, the latter slightly broader.

Difference compared to F8x would be wholly dependent on which one is implemented.
