How dark is the Mineral Gray?

First of all: hey all! Im from the EU and im in the process of ordering a G20, my first-ever Bimmer.

Im really stuck between 2 colors: mineral gray and mineral white. I know that these colors are not even close to each other (lol) but I fell in love with both of them (although I feel like I prefer the mineral white one).

Unfortunately, I dont have a chance to watch a mineral gray g20 in person so I would like to ask you about one aspect of the color: How dark is it “in real life?”

It would be highly appreciated if you could attach a few pictures, especially ones where the car is standing in the shadow!

Best wishes!

It's quite dark. At night, it looks almost black. I would say you can't go wrong with mineral white... but you should try to see all the colors in person before ordering.

The mineral grey looks stunning when it's clean and polished, really pops.

Depends on the light but definitely on the darker side overall. Beauty

A little too dark for me... I actually prefer Audi's Daytona Gray

Mineral grey is on another level to recession white.

Go with grey.

Both are great colour choices. I've had mineral grey and absolutely loved it.

However, I think colour choice depends entirely on the size and shape of the car. Some cars look better with one or the other but I'd go with mineral white as it looks really good on the G20 since it allows the light to create more visible shadows on the car, making the lines and ridges stand out more clearly.

I like most grey (gray?) colors too. I'm waiting for my nardo grey 340I in a week or two.

Do yourself a favor and get the Mineral Gray. It is almost the perfect shade of gray, doesn't pop, but suits the 3 series very well. I have had Sparkling Graphite and Space Gray and Mineral Gray does not compare.

I think it really depends on the light. It's dark in some conditions, mainly at night and cloudy days, but lighter in bright daylight and direct light exposure.

I prefer light coloured cars so have gone for Mineral White.

Miner Grey is a bit too dark for me and I think I looks very dull when not clean.

I think the colour choice on the g20 M Sport is a bit disappointing.

One of my favourite Bmw colours is Silver Grey. I had a e46 325 coupe and z4 coupe in it.

+1 on the mineral grey. Imo better than the mineral white, never been a fan of it over alpine white. Not truly a fan of mineral grey either just because I think it only looks best with the proper up keep otherwise looks rather dull.

Most of my cars have been white, including a B8 Audi S4. Fell in love with Mineral Grey on the G20.

Depending on the angle, shadow and lighting it is just wicked.

With some SiO2 based coatings the paint looks wet all the time.

Greetings from South Africa.

Another grey vote here, if you can keep it clean it looks amazing. White is for RS Turbos and Golf GTis not the refinement of the 3 series.

White just looks like a Police Car yet to be stickered up.

Thank you all for your photos and opinions, and congrats on your great cars, Im already in love with the G20, and cant wait to drive it.

Gonna be a tough decision though.
IMO the front looks a bit better in gray but the rear is stunning in white.

However, these photos convinced me that I cant go wrong either way, so I’ll just sleep a few nights and decide it instinctively.

I’ve just changed from my Mineral Grey 2018 440i Coupe. In the sun it could sometimes look quite silvery but generally it’s quite a dark grey. I found it very good at hiding dirt (certainly better than my new Tanzanite M340i!).
