My 2020 330i just started up by itself for no reason that I can figure out. I checked my BMW Connected app and I can't find any timer for automatic starting or climatizing that is active. Both my keys hang by the door within range to operate the car, but nobody was touching them. Has this ever happened to anyone here?

What do you mean by start up? The engine started, or just the interior lights?

Engine started up by itself. I was sitting on the couch. The car is in the garage. Both keys hanging on hooks untouched at the time.

Lol wow, that’s crazy. If that couldn’t be resolved ASAP I’d be getting rid of that car.

Thanks for the link. I guess this is not a new issue. I'm going to leave one key near the car and the other far away and hope I can catch it auto-start and narrow it down. I may also have both keys checked for faults.

I am finding, like a lot of others I guess, that the car drives great but the electronics are glitchy. My presets have reset themselves to null twice in the last two weeks. Bluetooth is touchy. Auto-lock/windows don't always respond to FOB signals...

If you save a preset option it will be unique to whatever key you were using at that time. The reason for this is a husband/wife can each use their own key and each have their own saved settings depending on which key is being used.

I found this out on my F30 as I thought something was wrong with it until I used the other key fob

I found the issue with my car. It seems that, even though a full reset was done twice deleting all previous profiles, the car still had a pre-ventilation/condition schedule of 6:50am stored. I never set that up so it was left over from the previous owner I guess. I just had to go into the settings and de-select the pre-ventilation schedule.

From what my wife read online, if the starts via programmed schedule, it is possible for someone to drive off in it without having a key FOB or phone key with them. I'll have to test that out. Beware.

So imagine this were caused by having your smartphone in your pocket. You know how every once in a while you call someone inadvertently because of the way you were sitting and the phone got squeezed or whatever but somehow you dialed someone? How much would that suck if that were the root cause of your car's engine starting up? Lol.

Over the last few weeks my 2020 330i has started on its on. it happens about the same time each day. 6:15 am CST.
I have looked at the Android "myBMW" app. to see if i can clear out the "auto climate control turn on" option. this option needs to start the car to control AC/Heat on the car.
Are there some other options I should look at.

Welcome to the forum. Check in iDrive under the Climate menu. If nothing us there then try restarting iDrive (push and hold in the volume button for 30 seconds, easiest to do while driving so you get the feedback when the restart happens) and see if that changes anything.
