dinan springs in OC

Anyone have g20 on dinan springs with the bump stop kit? I’d love to see your car and if you don’t mind give me a ride in it.

I’m really debating the spring with bump stop route or jus full send on coilsovers

Jus want to know if springs will bottom out and if ride is any better

More importantly is budget, imo. Nothing compares to a good pair of coilovers. The dinan springs and bump kit is a good start if you are simply looking to lower the vehicle and add a minute improvement of handling. Nothing worthwhile imo.
Coilovers however, will absolutely help is keeping the car planted during cornering. Keep in mind most worthwhile coilovers on this platform start around $2500+ including KW’s line, Ohlins.

Money is not wn issue but my priority is a conservative drop with the emphasis on comfort. I will never track this car so handling or cornering performance is not a focus. The springs do seem to be the most appropriate route for my purpose.

Coils are enticing tho since Iv never had them

If you want to truly maintain or even improve the comfort, Ohlins coilovers will be the best option. Springs will achieve a slightly lower drop but will add some stiffness. Especially over rough roads.

Chubbiejones can comment on stock suspension vs Ohlins and the improvement of comfort.

Ohlins are my first choice but they seem to be some out everywhere. Where did you get your set?

I had the dinan springs and rubber bumb stop kit on my car and it made it look really nice. Even though it's a subtle height difference it looks sick.

I still have springs and bump stop kit if you are interested?

I also have chargepipes and a pre-LCI front carbon splitter if anyone's interested

What wheel and tire size setup are you running wit the ohlins?

I have a square set 19x9.5 et 22 coming and wondering if a 265/35/19 square would fit. I know with the stock setup the it would rub the lower perch.

Little late, but scrolling thru the forums and found this. I have a ‘23 m340i currently lowered on Dinan springs with the bump stops and I just got some new wheels and tires which happen to be 265/35/19 rear and 235/40/19 front. I don’t experience rubbing at all since the Dinan springs only provide about an inch on lowering all around and focus more on preserving the ride quality. Overall I never really noticed a difference in ride quality in eco/comfort, but you do notice the springs tighten up in sports/sports+ and you’ll start to feel more bumps while driving, but otherwise the car still feels and rides amazing.

If budget allows, a good coilover will always be superior in every way as compared to springs. Ohlins or KW are the way to go.

I’m still on dinan springs however if I decide to keep my G20 for longer than a year, I would invest into the Ohlins.
