Euro Spec M340i vs M4 vs M550i Drag Race

Driving both the m340i and m4 to the average driver they are both fast and im amazed how well the m340i performs. M340i weighs more and has less hp but still comparable to the f80. Does the 8 speed transmission make that much of an improvement over the f80 6 speed??

The endless excuses crack me up.

M340i has a far superior engine which BMW have had to massively detune to avoid embarrassing their M cars.

Well that's settled then, the M340i is the spiritual successor to the remapped 335i/335d.

Those guys tried to convince the world that they were better than the E92 M3.

I drive my son's Clio GT sometimes and that's actually a lot of fun with 6 speed MT and only 128ps, just at not such crazy speeds as my cars.

When are allowed out again, I think I need to try a Golf R again.

And the same can be said about the S55, 100% they could’ve gotten more than 444 horsepower out of a 3 liter twin turbo, but the M5/M6 exist and the M3 can’t poach on it’s bigger brothers, never mind the fact BMW underrates everything. The endless arguments over F8X vs M340i are massively stupid. As someone who has both in the family these cars do not compete with each other and serve different purposes, and are completely different experiences.

But alas, people keep wasting their breath. Different strokes for different folks.

Speaking only for myself, the 340 is like a girl that you keep as a fríend. She's great on the inside but no matter how much you want to you can't really get over the fact that
you're not attracted to the outside... But that girl will find someone else who loves her and thinks that she is beautiful on the outside as well..

I think that manufacturers of custom headlights will have a small upswing for the new 3 series.

I swapped my 335d last year and narrowed it down to an F80 M3 and a M340i as the deals were similar.
