And it accelerated a lot faster in this one lol.. That guy obviously didn't launch the car correctly. It's about the car AND the driver, not just the car. Don't compare a little 3 series to an 80k+ luxury sedan making over 460 hp and 480 pound feet of torque stock. Theres no better feeling then getting your ass massaged while going 120+ miles an hour. You won't get that out of your 3 series. You must think the M5 is a hog too.

Some great runs from the m340i and I'll be sure not to mess with one from a dig. But having said, I just can't get excited about it because it looks like any other 3 series. I know some love the sleeper look but looking at this literally puts me to sleep lol

But, in a previous life with my M4 I had some 80 year old bro gaining on me like a freight train in his M550 ... not sure if we were racing, but in a straight line I could not pull away... once we hit a couple of curves, he had trouble!

How many videos do you guys have to see to understand this car is no slouch. 😂 When we did a dig I embarrassed this M2, and the owner was just as surprised as you are. Lol Then he wanted to keep racing to see if the results would be different - nope it was the same. Maybe if we went to 200mph he would catch up. 🤣🏎💨🚗 |

My local dealer lent me a 340i for the afternoon a while back. I wanted to see how it compared to my F82 CP. It's a brilliant car but the hype around this video reminds me how 0-60 stats and "drag race" clips do nothing to convey real life performance.
I found the M340i to be very accomplished and it is certainly very fast. No one will be surprised that with AWD it hooks up way better than my F82 - it should certainly help even out the tyre wear a bit! As you would expect, it is also much quieter and more comfortable. Even when pushing on it never got raucous. I think my wife would prefer I had this car for sure. Jumping back into my F82, the first thing you notice is how much louder and stiffer it feels. Then you floor it and the noise rips through the cabin. And, whilst the M340i is fast off the line, it doesn't have the sustained pull of the F82 - in short, the M4 feels faster and more powerful once on the move because it is. Steering is more precise and turn-in more aggressive making a much more visceral experience. I was literally beaming all the way home The M340i sets a new benchmark for sure and, if I get my face slapped at the lights by one, I'll tip my hat. But not for a second could you get me to swap. |

Yup, anyone with an automatic M340i xDrive can rest easy that their car can out-accelerate a previous generation manual M4 as long as that "race" only lasts 1/8 mi and the M4 gets a terrible tire spinning launch.

Next time I'm stuck on the 405 during rush hour I'll wear my helmet in case some M340i wants to "race". Btw the M340i was slower than the M2 comp And M2 CS on the Hockenheim GP which involve much more than just pressing the gas pedal really really hard. https://fastestlaps.com/tracks/hockenheim-gp

The M3 feels like an M car and special when you drive it. The M340i feels like a fast 3 series.

I contemplated an M340 when it was time to return my M3 6MT lease. I punched it from a stop sign and am sure it would out-accelerate my 6MT M3 9 out of 10 times if not 10 out of 10. Can't say from a roll but off the line it was fast. The downside was that it just didn't feel special like the M3 and its looks were just too generic when it was next to the M3. The F80 is a beautiful car. One thing that may have swayed me was the cooling package that comes with real summer tires. All the M340s didn't have that option which was a pity since I really wanted to see if that bit of extra tire would have made the decision easier to trade in the M3. Have been in the M3 another year and still love it but will revisit these M340 when it's time to part ways.
