The heaviness does get attached to a bit more overall feel. No, nothing like the E90 hydraulic, but enough to intuit the position of the front end during cornering. Still feels like trying to find the front wheels while the whole axle is dipped in custard but its there!

One of my more recent observations is hard to describe. In sport steering, at around 40 MPH, the wheel will spin quick enough that it "catches up" to your fingers in a tight turn, and give the impression that the car is pivoting around you at hip level. This remarkable sensation of oneness with the car was possible with the E90 at much lower speeds (20~25 MPH or so). It's probably due to the increased weight and grip of the M340i out of corners through the LSD that you get the sensation with higher speeds only. More driving is needed!

Thanks also for that shot with the engine cover off! Looks like cylinder 6 (or is it 1 now?) will be a little easier to access without disassembling the entire upper air intake as was needed on the N55!
Interesting thoughts about the car in a tight corner. I will pay attention next time on what you're describing. Even though I have xDrive, my Car's rear will slide out. My old E90 was very predictable in a slide when I auto-crossed(DSC off). I'm sure the M340 will also be predictable at the limit but I have not hit that limit and will probably not until on a track.

As for the cylinders, #1 is toward the radiator and #6 is at the firewall. In my old N54, the whole micro-filter/combing skirt portion had to be removed prior to accessing the motor cover. It was a PITA. I look in awe at the B58 now. Even the O2 sensor will be a breeze to change out. However, I'm sure there will be some future component replacement that will probably cause me to utter a few cuss words in same sentence with BMW attached. Cheers!

Update at 6 months:

-I've had a few issue since owning. An issue with the roof rack, listed here:

The OEM roof rack tool wears out quickly, and BMW won't provide a new one https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1742936

Other issues were:
-My rear brakes one day were squealing while driving and not during braking.

-Harman Kardon did not have any bass.

Service department reviewed those issues and didn't find any problems except a module replacement for the HK. This was resolved until this week and I have same issue, again. The rear brakes I resolved bedding the brakes before seeing the service department. No issues since with the brakes.

Separately, I executed an oil change 4,436 miles and had it analyzed. No oil was added.
See attached for the results.
Cheers to all!

congrats!! Same white on black owner here. I had a 2007 335i and i loved every second with it. Great handling and steering. But... tech is so advanced now and the engine is so much more powerful, even better chassis, it has elevated itself greatly. Enjoy!

Nice coasters!

Me likey. I was thinking of gloss black. Initially I thought it might look a bit gangster but it actually suits the car well.
