Hello
I just put in my order for a 2020 330xi. It is a done deal but they are holding off on putting in the order for 2 weeks to ensure the car is delivered at a time that works for me. This gives me 2 weeks to ensure I pick the best color combination. I'm going with Portimao Blue exterior. My other options were Mineral White or Sunset Orange. My last 4 cars were white and I'm not sure I would love the orange so the blue seemed to be the way to go to have something different that stands out. For the interior I'm choosing Oyster leather. I like the contrast with the blue plus I wasn't a fan of the other colors with the blue. This leaves me with the last piece I am unsure of. What trim should I go with to finish off the look? Aluminum? Wood? Does anyone have this color interior and if so what did you go with? Any opinions and pictures are greatly welcomed and appreciated. Last edited by a4guyiam; 09-02-2019 at 03:15 PM.. Open pore oak is the most popular and that's what I'd pick.
Just a suggestion, don't have them wait to put in the order. They can't guarantee you a time frame and you never know exactly what week your car will be scheduled to be built. Not to mention there could be any number of reasons the shipping could be delayed. Go ahead and have them put in the order and you can then wait to pick it up after it arrives.

I ordered Oyster upholstery with Oak Grain Open Pore trim. This trim is black in color. I was looking for a sport/tech look for my vehicle. Had I wanted a more luxurious look I would have selected Ash Grey-Brown High Gloss trim instead. This trim is black with a hint of brown.
I felt the Maple Open Pore trim added too much brown to the Oyster upholstery. This trim would go better with the Cognac upholstery, in my opinion. Personally, I didn't care for the aluminum trims, due to their patterns. Otherwise, those may have been acceptable to me. |

The two-tone dash was one of the reasons I selected the Oyster upholstery. It brightens up the interior. In addition to the black interior choices, the Mocha upholstery has an all-black dashboard. This is likely due to the lack of contrast between black and Mocha.

Not a fan of the two tone dash - that sort of interior contrast doesn't appeal to me. Prefer uniformity. To each their own. |

I'd like to see the fine wood ash gray-brown with it before deciding on the oak. There is a bit of warmth to the leather, at least in the pics above, and the ash might be very handsome with it without being too brown.
Wood is pretty timeless. Something like the aluminum tetragon is very timely and will look outdated long before any wood does. |

I went with open pore because it has a matte finish. The gloss trim in my current car reflects sunlight on my evening commute and annoys me

I don't get the allure of Oyster. Yeah it is absolutely gorgeous but the tendency for it to get dirty is just too much of an issue that I would have to pass on it.

I have ivory interior currently with a baby and a child in sports. It really doesn't get that dirty...

I’ve went for the Oyster with Aluminium Mesh Effect trim. Body color is Alpine White. I created a thread to discuss it: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1665453
