I'm eventually moving in with my girlfriend. She asked me to put it in comfort when I enter her neighborhood because she's afraid I'll end up on the NH Facebook page. People attribute loud exhaust with driving fast... but that's the only time it's usually in comfort.

I'm only running the M power and sound kit..

Sport (individual) mode all the time. As a former manual transmission guy, it is a requirement for me to keep transmission in Sport Plus so I can shift my own gears without auto-shift at redline. I keep steering in Sport for a modicum of additional feel. I go back and forth between Sport and Sport Plus for engine depending on mood and how civil I want to be...

Wait a minute...one can face public shaming on social media for having a loud exhaust in NH? That's a tactic I'd associate more with a state like CA.

I’ve had my M340i for about 6 weeks and I was finding myself constantly pushing the Sport button after starting in Comfort. I just coded it last night to default to Sport to start. I just love the way it drives and sounds in Sport! I figure I like it best that way and can click down to Comfort if I want to have a more mellow drive. Honestly, Sport Plus is awesome but I rarely use it around town. It’s just too touchy. The exhaust sound is cool and a great way to announce my presence but it can be a bit much around town and in residential neighborhoods.

First week in a car, and same as with 328d before that mostly drive in comfort as it is a perfect DD for me, only switch to Sport+ in traffic for aggressive line changes.
The main reason for Comfort setting is that I love paddle sifts, and always can go down a gear or two if I need extra passing power.
Big surprise that over first week I got 7.5 L/100 km Hwy/City average
Never expected to see this in M340i.
No Eco Po for me...ever.

I tried Eco Pro today for the first time. I had been driving in Sport and decided to try Eco around town. It felt like I was driving in wet cement. Maybe it'll be fine at cruising speeds on the freeway for some fuel savings but no way around town.

Sport is fun but for normal driving its annoying when it doesn't shift gears when your slowly crusing it just stays on that car till you manuallu shit up. Is there anyway to code the sport button to the steering wheel? I miss that the most from my old M4, the quick sport access and better gear management.

Not sure if I am making a mistake and should be driving in sport mode all the time to truly enjoy the car. If that's what everyone here does it would sway me to do the same lol.
I'm almost always in Sport Plus regardless. 90+% of the time. Get around 20MPG.

I put in the Dinan exhaust and sport plus sounds sooooo good I can't help myself. Although, even comfort sounds much better with Dinan than the stock exhaust.

It is an honest question, I am new to driving the ultimate machine.
Will drive in sport+ mode all the time accelerate the wear of the drive train?

Do realize that Adaptive is only adaptive when you also have the factory BMW nav plugged into a destination.

Otherwise, it's just on Comfort.

not really sure about that. i feel that if it does stiffen up based on my driving style for example if i take off quickly at a corner.

That's not true. It's a balanced (bias towards comfort) driving mode that adapts to driver input. On top of that, if the nav system is active it will further "adapt".

Well, then it's PARTLY true

Frankly, I've owned BMWs with the feature since it debuted on the 7 and to me, it's never really worked on-the-fly as quickly as it should. It's more PR than functional feature.

330e G20 - Tried most configurations and my favorite setup for sportier driving is Hybrid mode with the transmission in sport. Don't really see a lot of benefit of Sport mode.

Most of the time I use Sport Individual:
Suspension and steering - Comfort.
Transmission - Sport.
Engine - Sport Plus.

When I want "real" Sport mode - Sport Plus, of course.
