This is really awesome. I want more codings! I am going to try this soon and will report back. I currently have the driving view but don't have lane change activated..

I am still a little worried about whats going to happen when BMW pulls their head out of their ass and starts offering the OTA updates. Will custom coding break that? At the very least we will likely need to redo custom coding.

If I get it right, updating software version works more like programming. It replaces program binary code.
It should not affect coding & settings which I believe are stored separately.

There were some software and hardware changes starting July production. Don't ask me what they are as I have no idea.

Ok. Can I ask how we know there were changes?

Cars that were produced during and after July 2019 came with the active driving assistant view functionality enabled (if they had the proper package).

Cars produced before July did not have the active driving assistant view feature and, even after upgrading to the same (or greater) software version, it still is not enabled. It may be a bug or it may be intentional that it's not enabled for pre-July builds, but either way this coding exercise will enable it (again, assuming you have the correct driving assistance package). I have not seen any evidence that post-July builds have hardware changes.

What package the car should have to enable this feature? I have a G20 produced 11-18 with parking assistant, reverse assistant, pedestrian detection, active cruise control. Is this the basic configuration to enable the changes shown here? Thanks

Thanks for this. My main concern was hardware as I’m a pre July build but do have the package.

I'm trying to decide which route I want to go for this: Launcher Pro or ESysX. Plus, hopefully we'll find plenty more goodies to take advantage of all that latent hardware.

I got up the courage and decided to do it on my BMW 330I M Sport, manufactured on May 2019. I used Laucher Pro 3 and E-SYS. It worked perfectly as in the video. No mistake, just follow the video.

@Marcelo_BSB,
Wow, this is quite impressive-- not just this hidden capability, but how you discovered & documented it!! WELL DONE!!

Since I get confused by the different names for packages, I went my car's VIR. My car is a 2020 M340 Xdrive with a manufacture date of 6/26/19. The software was upgraded to 07/2019.70 recently when I took it in for rear camera recall. The car has Heads Up Display & I do see what you call "before" on both HUD & instrument panel. Here are related options:
• ZDA Driving Assist Package
-- 5AU Active Driving Assist Pro
-- ZN1 Active Blindspot
-- ZN4 Lane De8
• ZDY Driving Assistance Pro Package
-- 5AR Extended Traffic Jam Assist

Though I am new to G20 coding, I did a lot on my previous F30

My question is quite simply is whether this capability you found will work on my car

Thanks

I can confirm that this works. I had the active driving assistant before so I didn't need to enable that but I did enable the lane change assistant. For anyone else looking to do it, here are the relevant codings to enable the lane change assistant, these are copied directly from the video:

BDC_Body3 > CAFD_7083 > SPURWECHSEL_ASSISTENT
Default: nicht_activ
Change to: activ

HU_MGU > CAFD_3E52 > SPURWECHSELASSISTENT
Default: nicht_activ
Change to: gen_1

SAS2 > CAFD_42C1 > C_SWA_VORHANDEN
Default: Nr000_nicht_vorhanden
Change to: NR001_VORHANDEN

Here is a picture of it working, it does a cool little animation that shows the lane expanding and then the 'locked car' brackets move over to the car in the destination lane. I took the picture right before the brackets moved over, the HUD also shows a little green arrow in the direction of the lane change.. its awesome! Thanks for posting this OP.

Yes, I have a US spec car and it works perfectly. It is pretty awesome too, it will 'lock' the car in the destination lane as you are switching lanes and begin reacting to that cars speed. It also works much faster than the Tesla version I tried on a test drive.

If you are in distance mode only and assisted driving is NOT enabled the lane change feature will still 'lock' the car in the destination lane as you are manually changing lanes and begin reacting to the new car's speed much faster. I have no clue why this was disabled, it makes the system feel much more polished.

Works on US cars fine. You don't have to hold the indicator stalk, just tap it and it does everything for you

Here are the basic instructions: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=983244

Contact TokenMaster for the most up to date download and access to LauncherPro: https://www.**************.com/

Edit: Seems like that link was censored, visit the first link and jump through there, look for "Launcher Pro 3.x"
