Importing music from USB
I see in the music menus that I have 32786MB or so of memory available. I have gone through the directions on importing but I can't find an option in the menus to actually "import music data" like the Driver's Guide and owner's manual says there should be. Any suggestions?

Okay, I answered my own question. It seems you can import from a flash drive but not a phone. Even though I can play music from the phone directly through USB (or bluetooth), the option to download does not appear when the phone is connected.

2021 models no longer support downloading music to the car.

But also 2021 models support playing (and sorting using mp3 tags or folder structure) directly from a USB memory. I got a slim memory that stays in the USB-A port, with my MP3 folders. Works fine. (Only I had to buy new USB-C cables in case I need to charge using a cable.) You can have a USB memory connected to the USB-C port under arm rest also if that is more convenient.
And to BMW; No not all customers stream from online services! |

But at least, the functionality is the same except that one of the USB ports in the front gets permanently occupied. Once the track information has been imported titles/artists/albums can be selected by voice or menu.
