Brakes squeal

Hi,

I have a 2022 G20 with 6500 miles..I am having this issue where my brakes squeal, but only in reverse. Its very loud and when I leave the house in the morning the neighbors can definitely hear! Dealer told me this was "normal" a few months ago but I'm struggling to buy that.

Is this only happening after being parked for a long period? My brakes will squeal in reverse if they get wet while parked.

This happens to me every single morning when i go to work or when i leave the car alone for a while. its so annoying, but I've grown to live with it, for now. Once i get the low brake pad warning I'm swapping out these pads for something better, quieter and less brake dust.

i think the OEM pads are garbage.

My 330e does this as well, also only in reverse. It doesn't matter how long the car has been driven, in reverse going slow they squeal very loudly. Seems pretty odd.

My 2023 M340i suffers from this as well.

Weirdly enough I tried turning off the auto hold out of curiosity and my brakes stopped squeaking. So it really beats me

I've never engaged auto hold, but I did the opposite and engaged it then the brakes stopped squeaking when in reverse.

2023 330e having same problem for months now. Wonder what’s going on.

Trying checking your rotors before you back out, if there is a thin coating of rust from sitting in a damp location overnight it's most likely the corrosion causing the squeal.

My front brakes squeak only when slowing down around 15 mph. It’s odd. Any other time they do not make any noise.
23’ 330i with m sport brakes.

I have an M340i and get sort of deep squeaking sound when I break at low speeds. It goes away after ~10 minutes of driving. The dealership told me it was normal, and due to the high performance calipers/pads.
