I get it but its much less pronounced/alerting than it was on my Audi. Its basically a red flashing light on the backup camera from the direction the car is coming but no audio alert...

My Observations
My few observations after two months of ownership (2024 M440i.) You get the red flash on the display if the cross-traffic vehicle will pass approximately 20-25 feet behind you or less and you are in reverse gear. You also get an audio beep if the cross-traffic vehicle will pass less than 15 feet behind you. Although I've never been moving when I got the beep, I assume the brakes are automatically applied at that time. The warnings start when the cross-traffic vehicle is 30-50 feet to the side.

Well, I get no indication. According to BMW NA "Genius" the feature is on my vehicle as well as the service department of dealer I bought it from. They also scanned the software and found no errors. I escalated to BMW NA and after some back and forth ( and a threat to contact the NHTSA) they are now sending a Factory Field Engineer to look at my car.
