I'm also in a conversation with someone from BMW Genius but so far they haven't been of help.
I checked Data Privacy settings - I had it on Individual with Remote Software Update selected, changed to All Services but that didn't do much. I've cancelled the upgrade from the app, wiped the app (data and cache), removed the car from BMW Garage and re-added it with all the services activated (incl. Remove Software Update). Removed device from car pairing, removed it from my Android and started from stratch. All to the same results - all three BT, apps, Wifi are connected and MyBMW app shows transferring in progress but nothing happens. For iPhone, I read if you go into MyBMW app settings and make sure 'Local Area Network' is enabled, the transfer works, did you try this? I haven't tried using an iPhone but if this works for you I'm willing to go this way. Doesn't excuse why Android doing work which is #%^&! |

I have a 2021 BMW m340i and for the longest time I had not been able to get a software update past the 07/2021.50 that I installed as soon as I bought the car out of state as CPO in April of 2022. I thought maybe it was the BimmerCode coding I had done a couple months after owning it that was blocking it so I reverted that for a few weeks to see if I would get a notification on the new updates and still no dice! My local dealership did not want to install the update because they said since I wasn’t having any actual problems with the system, force updating it may cause problems (bunch of BS I know). Long story ahead…
I was gone for a month this summer from my car and when I got back my battery was completely dead and I needed to jumpstart it. As soon as I turned it on from the jumpstart box, I got a notification that 03/2023 update was available for my car. The download started on my phone and transferred effortlessly to my car but it would not install until I got the new battery from the local dealership a few days later. During the battery replacement they found a GPS tracker installed directly to the battery that I later found out was put on by the original dealership I bought it from without my consent (they are now paying for my battery replacement costs). Apparently some dealerships do this if the car was originally a lease and since mine was CPO, they must have forgot to remove it and never told me about it. My local dealership said this had been causing drain from my battery even when the car was off since it was connected incorrectly and I’m thinking this was why the car never would search for updates. Not sure how that helps anyone but just thought I should share. Maybe the battery had been really low and the jumpstart finally gave it enough power for the computer to decide it could search for and download the update or maybe it’s just coincidence. Either way I’m glad to be on the latest OTA update and hopefully I don’t go another year and a half worth of updates in between before the next one gets to my car. |

So...finally got the newest software to download and install. The takeaway here is that you have to wait until the car display informs you that an update is available before it will download to the car. I got the notification on my screen in the car yesterday. I connected today and it took about 10mins to download to car. I parked set my emergency brake on and the install was about 20mins.

G22b58 - I do not think what is referred as "two display levels" menu structure is applicable to any current G20/G21. Not sure about G22. And for sure it needs to curved displays. What is shown in the images is iDrive 8.5 layout which needs different HW than what is being installed in G20/G21. iDrive 8.5 is what new X1 and 2AT will be getting. What is nice with it is the extended climate control shortcuts.

Does anyone know if this is applicable also for idrive 7? (I have full electric seats)
Personalisation of your electric driver's seat has been expanded to include entry/exit positioning on exit. The driver's seat moves to a more comfortable seat position for getting in/out when the door is opened. After update I don't see anything related in the menu of the car I consider it quite helpful but I don't see it anywhere in the menu, maybe I'm doing smth wrong here🤔 |

I have the same issue 2022 M440i and have tried the same things to troubleshoot with no results.
App says it is transferring to Car , and IDrive states the update or activation will be automatically resumed shortly. Been 4 days like this and I have driven the car quite a bit in last 4 days frustrating !!!!!! |

Hey there. The update downloaded to my 2021 m340i OTA without any issues (did not do it using my iPhone). The app indicates steps 1 & 2 of 3 completed and to continue rest from the car (see image). When I go into the remote upgrade screen and see “The upgrade or activation will be automatically resumed shortly.” It’s been like this for several days. Car is outdoors, level, cellular service available, parking brake on, windows and doors closed, all lights off, nothing connected. As far as I can surmise it’s a battery state of charge issue. My OBD scanner with BimmerLink tells me 12V at 78% (never gets past this %) and my 48V at 75-80%. Would have assumed it’d be good enough.
Anyone have any recommendations? |

How do you get to the RSU error messages? Asking as BimmerLink is new to me. I noticed that on mine, it’s says 40km for Mileage Last Battery Replacement. I assumed dealer changed battery but still kind of odd for a new car at the time.

XHP has an option to switch off the ASS altogether. I believe it disables it in all modes except ECOPro. I don't have this latest s/w version being discussed here, so I can't confirm if this still works.
Does anyone with a G20 and this latest sw version know if the XHP option still works to disable the ASS? (Or has this been stated already and I missed it?) |

I'm on 03/2023 and can say that XHP does in fact still disable ASS. I turned it back on because I just don't see any sense in idling for 2 minutes 7 different times on my commutes. I can't speak to 07/2023.

potential fix for those that are stuck,
I uninstalled my BMW app in the car under privacy settings , uncheck remote software update and recheck it again Now go back to remote software settings and will now ask to check for updates I did check and came back with no updates I reinstalled the BMW app and same thing no updates but at least I removed the warning from the app. we will see if it will re-download |

07/2023.53 installed without issues on my 2023 M340i yesterday. As shared by others, the gauge cluster and HUD fonts have changed. I like it! Also, I really like the improved clarity and visuals using BMW Maps on the HUD and center display. The only thing I don’t like is the font disparity between the gauge cluster/HUD and the center display. 😑

My 330e updated without issue as well and I'm finding the exact same thing as you. The font disparity is strange between the 2 displays but other than that, not much else to report. |
