I said that I had issues with the ringtone sound not coming through the speakers when I received a call, and issues with the gas meter showing inaccurate information and giving too early an alert for when you need to fill up more gas.

Both were true issues I had. The one with the gas level indicator was solved with the update, the issue with the ringtone only kind of.

On a US 330 it has to be coded either using Esys or Bimmercode Expert mode. There is a long thread about it in the Coding forum.

Thanks for the reply. I did see the coding thread but thought somehow BMW enabled it via latest update and that I did it get it. I don't know much about coding, but I am reading up on it as I would like to add Assisted Driving View and Lane Change Assistant. I think at the moment there is now way to get Esys Launcher v3.x which if iirc is required for G20s.

So I assume the iDrive Spotify app is only available if you have the wireless charging since that comes with in vehicle WiFi. Can anyone confirm?

So i just got my 330x drive back from a service/recall and they updated my original 03.2019.522 load to 03.2020.40. I have all the driver assistance pro+ options but not m-sport. Here's what i have noticed: Spotify is present in the Media menu; the sport display (progressive bar with shift point indicator) is now available for the HUD; sport+ is NOT available, although i was surprised to find that it WAS available on the new X3 330 non-Msport that i had as a loaner; there does not seem to be any perceptible difference in the sport settings or "sound", either actual or piped; there seem to be additional colors available for the ambient lighting; I don't believe the enhanced driving assistance professional features (lane change assistant, enhanced display, etc.) were updated as i don't see anything new in the options, but i have not had a chance to get out on an interstate to try this; when shutting off car, there is now a new display asking if i want to schedule pre-ventilation; the front camera no longer switches on after reversing until you come very close to hitting something or turn on the camera manually - it used to switch to the front immediately after you went from R to D; the seat belt pretension feature still works; I am not noticing any change to the central display mapping; all of my BMW Connected functions work except for surround view which is still asking me to allow the data use - which I have done, followed all the previous tutorials, redone, etc.; the climate control sync function now includes the rear seat zone as well; I have had several instances where my profile was not saved upon restart and had to log in again - i think this is now rectified but not sure exactly what did it; my full profile (sets, mirrors, media preferences, etc.) WAS saved to the BMW Connected cloud and retrievable when the car was returned - you apparently need the connected app and services for this to occur. The car was initially returned in two days but when i checked, the option for data privacy settings was completely gone and there were no installed apps; back it went for another complete reset. I later learned that BMW TSARA has this is as a known problem that is under investigation; would have between nice if they had informed their service departments so they could check software updates properly before releasing the car. If you do manage to get your software updated, i would advise checking this before accepting your car.

No, it has nothing to do with the WiFi / wireless charging package. It uses the car's cellular connection, which is standard equipment.

Yes for those two features you need Esys. But Bimmercode can do Sport+ and most of the other popular tweaks.

Interesting. I'm on 03/2020.30 and I don't have Spotify. I just assumed it was because it uses WiFi hotspot data which I don't have but now I wonder why it's absent.

Others have had that issue. Search the forum for Spotify. I seem to remember reading that an iDrive reset fixed it for some.

This issue has been there since the 07/2019 update. Some has mentioned in the thread back in Oct/Nov that this was an intentional change of behavior. Looks like they still has not fixed/changed it.

If you haven’t got Spotify with 03/2020, you need to do a factory reset, not an idrive reset (it’s in the menu).
Don’t bother asking your dealer, because they haven’t got a clue

I lost spotify and weather widget after 03/2020. Now my bmw connected app won't work anymore either. Going to try the factory reset. Will i lose everything?

Also, does spotify work off the car's internet connection or through your cell phone?

Uses the car data... you don’t need the phone. However you do need a Spotify premium account.

Can anyone who uses Spotify comment on their experience with it and what pros it has besides using the cars data and not the phones.

I currently have Apple Music and unlimited data on my phone so using my phones data is not an issue so I'm not sure what other benefits there are for switching.

Only benefit is using the cars data if you are restricted in your phone. In your case that is not an issue.

I get the artist etc on a widget in iDrive and on the virtual cockpit. I use Spotify from the car.

I don't like using the built in Spotify because if I have CarPlay connected and use the car's spotify my phone likes to take over and stop the spotify so I usually just use it on my phone.

Disappeared for me. BMW connected app no longer works with the car either. Will perform full reset today and report back.

Thanks Alpine! I saw your post earlier in the discussion about the widgets being lost after the update, but then others reported that they were working. So I'm just trying to confirm. My 11/2019 software seems to have disconnected from ConnectedDrive for over a week now, no weather, traffic and my ConnectedDrive app no longer works.

The reset worked...kind of annoying b/c i lost ALL settings but the widgets are all back and working smoothly.

The connected drive app still dose not work on my iphone. I have uninstalled and re-paired it a few times but it won't update my vehicle information or the ability to remote unlock/lock etc. It lasted updated April 11 and is stuck on that information. Any ideas?

I lost my settings as well, but 10 minutes in the car was all it took to put them back as I like them.
The 03/2020 update wiped all my apps and the dealer didn’t have a clue. The factory update restored them all.
I didn’t get Spotify album art over Bluetooth, but it does appear using the built in one. The only issue with the BMW one is that podcasts don’t appear for some reason.
