Small chip in windshield

I just picked up my G80 after 9.5 months a week ago.

I was out joy riding yesterday and a rock hit and chipped the windshield. It is tiny and just in the top factory tinted layer.

Any recommendations on how (or if) it can easily be fixed?

No chance of real damage, but it is right in front of me. So it is just staring at me.

Worst is that I didn’t even get to drive it much the first week because I was getting it PPF and Ceramic coated.

If it's just a chip there's not much you can do to it. If it's a crack then I would get it filled immediately before it expands beyond repair.

The windshield on the G8X are very fragile. I had a crack in the first 200 miles. Since then I had a protective film applied to it kinda like PPF. Most of my friends without the film have cracked their windshield beyond repair.

Is this your time driving a car or something? Go to the dealer or a glass shop and tell them to fill it if it's got legs. If not just drive the thing.

Your insurance most likely covers a visit by Safelight. They will either fill it with a resin to prevent it from getting more significant for $0.00 or if they have to replace it whatever your deductible is. I know its only a chip but nothing to lose to check and see if its covered by your current insurance. The resin might also take the visibility of the chip away from your vision.

I know I’m crazy. Just hoping to keep it prestige for longer than a week
I’ll be driving it like it’s meant to be driven in no time.

I DD my car and it got a chip go get it fixed before it runs. I can still see the fix but at least it’s not a crack. The windshield in these cars is about $2000.

Just got mine replaced with OEM glass. I spoke to the dealer who recommended a glass company who was able to argue that OEM glass is appropriate given the ask of the car

Wow, looks just like new.
Must feel good!
I think I’d hate to drive it for fear the next rock is just lurking out there.

I wish people posted at least a photo of all these chips they are talking about. Depending on individual perception, it could be just about any size or severity.

Fingers crossed. I went 7 years without any chips which is pretty good if you ask me. Below is the chip. It wasn't huge but unfortunately right where my heads up display is so I didn't want to take a chance with a repair
