Downpipe

Went to fit my VRSF downpipe today. Turns out it doesn't fit as the newer models have a petrol particulate filter.

Hoping the fine chaps at VRSF will allow me to return it and maybe update the website to avoid others falling into this trap.

Anyone recommend me an alternative catless downpipe that is compatible with a 2020 320i with PPF?

It didn't fit due to connecting differences in the pipes or because there was an extra sensor op the DP?
It seems this engine will suffer from alot of delays as the OPF are mailny EU cars, most brands are US based.

It wouldn't fit because of the connection type at the PPF end

I'm tempted to cut out the PPF but would rather not. Not sure of the consequences of doing this

I spoke with these guys last night. They don't produce a downpipe that mates to EU cars with the petrol particulate filter.

Its US spec only

They make a pipe for US models (B46) and one for Euro model (B48). Are we talking about the same thing or thats an update to the existing B48 model?

From mid 2018 onwards, EU B48 cars came with a petrol / Gasoline particulate filter.

It sits straight after the Downpipe.

This means the downpipe sold by most people (like my VRSF item) is not going to fit

Here is the VRSF DP. Stated that it fits G20 B48. However, note the end that should join with the rest of the exhaust. It's quite different.

Do you mean cutting out the petrol particulate filter?

If so it's illegal to do that as it's an MOT failure (they will see the increased emissions). Also throws a code so BMW will also know.
Yeah, that's my plan. Pretty much every cat back aftermarket system does away with the particulate filter.

I've got BM3 so I should be able to code out the cel light

Ok. From looking at aftermarket systems, I've not seen a full catless downpipe that works with my M340. Not that I would do it because of the consequences. Catless also requires tuning.

What I've seen is that the full aftermarket systems come with the PPF and offer a sports cat.

Good luck. Keep the stock exhaust to put back on for the MOT...

I e-mailed VRSF about 2 weeks ago and they told me the B48 downpipe doesn't fit the B46 model, but they are working on a downpipe for the B46 and it should be available very soon.
