This is a very helpful thread! I've successfully coded bronze to red and it looks great. But the ambient lighting on the B&W speaker grills are still bronze. I changed all the D7,6E,14 bytes to FF,00,00 in 360A. Can't figure out how to change the speaker lighting. Anybody successfully code this so the B&W lighting changes as well?

I agree. BMW shouldve done it from the factory itself!

I did make a screen recording but the problem is that when I first changed the values, the original default selected option in bimmercode change to a new unassigned value option.
As in, when its untouched, in 360A > LIC_LCI_COLOR_LIBRARY_DATA, the option G20G21G26G28G80_Lichtpaket_code1 is selected. When I changed the custom value there, it saved all those 151 bytes as a new unassigned value. So now, in my car, when I made the screen recording, the option selected was Unassigned value instead of G20G21G26G28G80_Lichtpaket_code1. Thus, it isnt accurate for those who havent changed the ambient light coding at all. Ill upload it on YouTube and post a link soon. I need to find that video first

The colors look great and thanks again for the write-up.
Question: Has anyone else noticed that following the coding, the map lights don't automatically turn on? The are off (though the rest of the ambient lighting is on) when I start the car. They only come on after I go and change the colors back and forth... Any solution? |

I've also made some changes to the write up. Please look at what I've added below the video in my post to get a better idea. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=103

Yup. Apparently it wasn't possible. Someone posted a change that might have worked but it didn't. So yes. Looks like we're stuck with the orange and white backlights for now.

What color is the top map light for you guys? And what option is the ambient light set (what color are the strips and what color are the footwell/door handle lights)?
My strips are blue and the footwell is red. The dome spot lights are red too. I tried changing it and when I choose the red strips and blue footwell, the spot lights change to blue. I'm guessing that's how it should work?

I don't think the driver's side can be coded to tilt down in the G series cars. I'm not a hundred percent sure though.

When the switch is to the drivers side position, the passenger side rear view mirror dips down. When it is to the passengers side, neither of the mirrors will dip.
