BootMod3 Tune

Hey guys,

I just read about this tune for the M340i from a fellow driver and he said great things. Anyone else have any experience with this flash tune? As per the website, it says +18% HP/=28 TQ on a stage 1 (91 Octane) flash. That's pretty good!

I've also read/heard great things about it. A friend at work has had BM3 on his M3 for a couple of years and loves it, he says several of his friends have it on various BMW platforms without issue.

My M340 has the "new" DME which can't be unlocked via OBD2 yet, it has to be bench unlocked first and I don't know who in my area can do that, maybe BM3 knows. But everything I've read on usergroups and forums is if you have "old" DME you can tune at home via OBD2 with BM3

Just so you know if you aren't local you would have to ship your ECU to them to have it bench flashed. Unless your software/update is earlier than 11/2019

Thanks for the info, I got my car in February 2020 so I think I might have the newer one. Do you know how I can confirm this?

As the previous post said the change was sometime around Nov 2019, one way to tell is give the VIN to BM3 and they can tell

if you have a obd and ethernet cord you can download BM3 and plug it in to see what software version you have. Send that to Protuningfreaks and they will tell you if its the older or newer software. Thats what I did. I had the old software. Went stage 1 93 and the car is awesome. Doing dowpipe and Dinan quad exhaust this weekend and will go stage 2...

So I flashed the BM3 Stage 91oct ACN map the other day and it made my throttle super touchy. Like if i tap it even a millimeter the RPMs jump over 3k. This is even in comfort mode. You definitely feel the extra power but at the expense of drivability. I prefer the stock linear throttle.

I flashed back to stock the next day. Thinking about asking for a refund or I might transfer my license to someone else.

Bm3 is still beta testing maps, mhd was the same until several revisions later no matter who you go with everything will be a little buggy yes bm3 is late to the game compared to mhd but they will obv fix the maps no need to ask for a refund just help them beta test and log to make the maps better.

Didn't think of it this way. They refunded me for now.

Maybe I'll come back to it once it's better.

I really liked it on my m2 so hopefully this gets better.

Flashing my car with the Stage 1 BM3 next week for the first time. My ride is completely stock as of now.. anyone experience any problems with the BM3 Stage 1?

All I hear so far is great reviews.

Take a look at Mission Performance tune. Just flashed a tune from them this weekend, and after having JB4 (removed), custom tune locally, and MP tune, the MP tune is by far the best. Excellent drivability, and the power delivery is very linear. Great power
