Well, nothing happens when I try to record. Is there something that needs to be done to get it to work?

My latest response implored them to do REAL research

Just curious, how many 2020 M340 owners have this feature available?

FWIW
Hahaha 😂 I ordered it on my M340i xdrive from factory. Came as part of a pack (I think parking assistant pro for the cameras) in the UK.

Man they know nothing at times.

After you activate it and set it up in settings (choose manual and/or automatic record, and which cameras you want, etc.) you have to turn the car off and lock it wait a few minutes then re-start the car then you will be able to record and test it. I had the same issue and called the BMW Genius and he gave me those instructions then it worked no problem. It is a pretty good feature, but as someone else mentioned, we don't know how "good" the sensors will actually trigger incase of an accident or a break in... it would be interesting to know what triggers it to record and how sensitive the trigger is, it has no adjustment feature.

Does everyone who successfully added the drive recorder have the driving assistant professional package? Trying to figure Out why I haven’t been able to add it.

I have DAP and was able to get drive recorder to download and work. You should try calling BMW Genius 844-443-6487 they helped me out. Hope you get up and running soon.

Is Drive Recorder always a paid service? I noticed that in the newest model years it is listed as a standard feature on the car (when u order the right hardware).

I got it as an included feature (in the U.K.) as part of a package.
My car build month was Sept ‘19

It seems it is different in differing markets....

Keep in mind when manual is selected the car will not auto save the recording of you're in an accident. Manual requires you to start recording.

Yes, it seems for US market they are offering a 1 month trial. After which you have to pay for the subscription.

I have BOTH Auto and Manual selected so it will also automatically record in an accident, right?

I use a small SanDisk drive that's USB C on one side and USB A on the other for my music and it works fine with exporting videos from the drive recorder as well.

I had no idea both can be selected. The GUI and setup for DR is pretty simplistic and not very informative. I'll try selecting both. Can a one touch preset be programmed to start / stop recording?

I wish they'd offer an option to always record when car is in motion (without needing to manually select record) and allow me to set save options.

One video I saw mentioned that holding the camera button actives it but it didn’t on mine but I have yet to try again. Forget which video or model it was, sorry.

But I do think it must always be recording otherwise how could it do 20 seconds before the event?
