Android Auto
I'm sure this has been discussed but I couldn't find a thread on it so I apologise.
I keep reading that Android Auto is now available on all models. I have a 2020 m340 and haven't seen it pop up. Has anyone been able to connect? Thanks |

Nobody has Android Auto at the moment.
Basically from hearing arouns you need to be on version 7/2020 to get Android Auto. Dealers might get this version available to them in the coming weeks so after that you can go and have them update you to 7/2020. If you want to wait for an OTA BMW said that can be expected in Q3 2020. So anywhere from there to November when 11/2020 comes out is a reasonable time frame. |

The OTA updates seem to be staggered presumably to manage the load on BMW’s servers. Also it looks like you need a fully charged battery before an OTA update will install. HTH

AA is installed on my M340iX.
For those interested, AA is integrated into the instrument cluster (and HUD) but appears to be pretty basic when compared to BMW's ID7 native solution. Larry

Hmmm....in CA as well. Just got back from an oil change and my dealer didn't seem to know anything about this major update. The rollout seems to be pretty sporadic.

Two wuick question about 7/20 software update: • First, does include previous updates (like Drive Recorder & Spotify)? • Does the ParkMobile App now work? Thanks!

Was recommended to book my car in to have the 07/2020 update for AA but the dealer just rang and knows nothing about it? Standard BMW with mixed messages.

I called BMW Connected Drive North America. They had no idea about Android Auto and a software update for July. Also they said Android Auto is only available on 2021 models. To which I asked, isn't the whole point of OTA updates so this doesn't happen. - either way they had no idea. This iDrive 7 update business is very frustrating to customers. (i.e. dealers don't want to update the car; OTA doesn't seem to work for some users or markets)

I think I'm going to wait till the first week of August; don't expect the OTA for my VIN to be delayed beyond that...figured I waited THIS long for Android Auto, what's a few more days

In NY, clueless dealer had no idea about any updates coming. Assured me that AA was never coming to BMW. Pointed them to BMW's press releases and they said it was fake. The car is fine, but this is easily the worst dealer I've ever encountered.

Lord, run as far away as you can from that dealer, next they'll say oil changes are fake news and warranty is only a suggestion!
