G20 3 Series vs Mercedes C-Class vs Jaguar XE Comparison Review [Auto Express]

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I'm back in the market for a 3 series after having skipped the F30 gen. And it's good to see the 3 series back on top of the segment, according to Auto Express at least

Encouraging for M340 and future M3.

I do hate the slats in the leather. Feels very accord, or sub market.

"The steering is still squishy and lifeless."

Hmm. Love those semi digital analog dials. The ring bezels may bother many, but I prefer that over the new digital cluster

What's so freakin hard about tightening up the damn steering wheel, hydraulic please. BTW will they ever learn and lower the car, maybe a half inch? Not greedy.

Where's the A4? That's the better competitor than both the Benz and Jag.

Because they don't want to lose all the badge wh*res and grandmas buying up their cars. I always see F30s parked in handicapped spots...that used to be unimaginable for anything less than a 7-series.

I'm very confused by the steering. I feel each review says one thing different from the next. Car and Driver who has been very tough on BMW since electric steering, praised the new 3's steering (in sport mode at least), the new 8, Z4 and others for their improvements and actual steering feel, but then some EU reviewers don't like it. Guess it will come down to the test drives to find out.

Analog needles confirmed. You can see the shadow from the needle. Some people were saying they were going to put the full 5-series digital dials in the base model (lol).

Mocha color interior looks sharp.

I wonder if its just some sort of EU vs US steering preference. For the F30 it seems like the US journalists complained the most about the steering by far.

king of the "compact" executive class....

My definition of compact differs. The E90 could fit this category but not the F30 and certainly not the G20 IMO.

G20 looks great in these photos with AW and M-sport, I think people will get use to the look, anyways I like that it finally looks a bit more modern while retaining the elements that essentially make it a 3 series

It's interesting that car and driver said the steering has feel again but only in sport mode

The looks of the G20 are growing on me... but am I the only one who thinks the rear reflector placement is absolutely hideous?
