the F80 is going to be tough to improve on.

It's a better handling car than it's direct competition C63 And Alpha both sporting 500hp

I don't consider AWD an improvement.

You can slap AWD on any car and it's going to grip better. This thing would have to be super sophisticated.

Engage on launch semi engaged for corner grip.

I'd like to see the final design
Every new generation was and will be big improvement
I know this one will be kick F80 a$$

May be a longitudinal yaw sensor; if tied into the dsc systems this could be playfullness testing going on with the awd also. No matter to me, I'm sure the final product, especially in rwd form, will be fun.

On the active features, I'd bet if you opt for the active cruise and traffic jam assists (which I do see a huge value in) you also will be forced to have the auto breaking, lane departure, etc nannies. I won't be a buyer if those things are standard and/or cannot be defeated fully.

BMW is just, as a good little inferior company, following in Mercedes footsteps.

The G80 arrived to Arjeplog the week of February 18,2019, as I personally saw two G80 test mules leaving the BMW Winter Test Area last week late afternoon for laps on Lake Kakel. Not worth it to take photographs, as the only visual cues were the quad tail pipes. The G80 will have an other winter of testing in 2020 prior to market launch.

Many of us M3 owners expect the gap and plan our purchases around it.
Same thing happens with the Porsche crowd and the GT3.

I would love to drive an AWD M3 in the snow with Actual snow/winter tires. What a blast that would be.

Sure, the brand loyalists. But that is not the majority of buyers.

The GT3 is a limited production near exotic track weapon so it is to be expected that there will be gaps in availability.

Mercedes has no problem releasing the AMG models quickly.

So looks like it won't share the same headlights as the 3 series hopefully it follows tradition and uses the coupe version lights and they look better without the weird notch

I wonder how much that equipment weighs. Nevertheless, it's going to make the commuting so much nicer!

It's possible.... but I would remind you to check out the G20 spy shots from the similar stage of camo covering (full wrap completely hiding lower facia design).... you can't see the notch there either. In fact they look almost exactly like these headlights. As you can see the drls are hidden so there is "more" headlight below the camo

Also looking at the profile the grill cover sticks out awkwardly so my guess is that is another trick to hide the final look.

My speculative guess is the M3 will be closer in design theme to the 3 vs the f80 which shared the 4/m4

The M2 is the new M3 anyway.

Now if only they would bump the displacement up a bit and hit say 550hp!
