Replacing the Grill on a G22 4 Series : help!

Hello! Just purchased a new 4 series with the M sport package however it still has the chrome grill, which I absolutely dislike. But wasn't going to pass on the car for something that's fixable. I just ordered the blacked out shadowline grill but unlike the previous gen, there are NO you tube videos or anyone talking about replacement/install instructions and I dont want to go to the dealership. And local body shop quoted me $300-500 which is crazy ridiculous, I know on the prev gen it was relatively easy to grill swap. SO I want to do it myself. problem is, Nobody has posted how to remove the grill and swap on the new gen. Someone here I believe said they did it on their own, but didn't say how or what tools or what to do to get the snaps out, the inner shutters are so close to the nuggets, Idk. I have the park assist version. If someone could please offer some guidance on how to go about swapping on my own that would be really appreciated. Thanks much!

You have to give them a pretty decent amount of force to yank them off, but they're just held on by clips

hmm so if i try to pry them off forward by a good tug, will it snap off (break) the clips or will they slide right out?

Shouldn't break, just apply reverse force as perpendicular as possible after unhooking the electronics.

I just did this to my G22. I did bite the bullet, and had BMW do it, they charged me one hour of labor.

Is there a filler blank/plug that you have to remove from the camera hole?

Just did this last weekend on my G22. I used no tools whatsoever, other than a screwdriver to unclip the sensors once I had the original grill out… just a little bit of pulling involved by hand to get it out. Took me about 20 mins to install. There’s a YouTube video I watched just to get an idea of where the clips are located so I knew where to start pulling. Definitely improves the look imo

Yes ACC still works it’s just one additional sensor for models with ACC literally just pop it out and snap into the new grill, same as the parking sensors. They also offer one for cars without ACC, so won’t have the hole in the center of the grill if your model does not have ACC. You just choose with or without in the drop down when ordering. Was extremely happy with bimmer plug. Price was great, very good communication, arrived when they said it would and quality is top notch. I’ve actually already ordered more stuff from them! Install was easy, no tools took about 20 mins total
