2024 G26 - Do I need to revert back to stock with Bimmercode when taking it to dealer or doing iDrive over the air update? 🙏

An iDrive update will wipe all coding made with Bimmercode. As to the dealer it very much depends what your dealer is like (and what changes have been made). Some won't care but there are horror stories of dealers blaming issues on the coding e.g. https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2044793

I have been to 3 dealers. Two in NY, one in California. # of visits were about 6 times in total? No issues at all.

I did not mention about codings done.

if you are getting software update, most of the codings will be reset. HU_MGU, BDC etc..

but some will stay there. for example 5 times direction indicator (it won't show on the menu, but unless you change to 3 times or 1 time, it will still work)


when I go to the dealership for other services, I ask to not update software.
