Hmmm. Not sure the splash guards really stop that much

For anyone interested attached is the old rivet vs the new rivet for the recall on the wheel arch lining.
New rivet is a lot bigger and requires a rivet gun to fix in position. Old one is the simple push type. Part number on the bag if anyone needs any in the future. I've now got 10 spare at least if I ever need to take the mud guards off. |

Just got a set of these off ebay and was thinking about installing them. I was wondering if they might rub against the paintwork and damage it. How securely held are these thing when they're on - could they move at all when in use? I was thinking maybe a but of protection film might be needed where the edges touch the paintwork.

Hi folks
Is anyone able to confirm if the mud flaps will fit the LCI G21 ? I wouldn't have thought there would be any difference in bodyshape at the point of contact , but then again 🤷*♂️ |

Thread resurrection to ask a query about these, which was already mentioned by thescouselander.
I recall my OEM F31 mudflaps had a double sided foam tape (with red backing so likely 3M or similar) around the trailing vertical edge of the flap, presumably to stop them moving once fitted and rubbing on the paintwork. Do these ebay or Amazon flaps have this? I'm sure Toolstation do a similar narrow foam tape so I'd probably use that if they come with nothing fitted |

They don’t have any tape etc fitted to them. Would be easy enough to retrofit thought. |

How important is it to put on mounting tape? I know you don't want the mudflaps rubbing against the paint, but that mounting tape will get nasty and mouldy over time.
More importantly, I got the rears on because it's simply hex screws. The fronts are impossible on my 330i xDrive M-Sport. I tried pushing through the middle, but they are very tight and I'm worried about breaking something. I now realize the rivets are the new kind. See photo. Anyone know the part number? I'm done ordering off ebay. I guess if I just somehow sawed it off and then got a new rivet, that would be an option? |
