Can the car default to Sport Mode and Start/Stop off?

1. Is it possible to always have auto start/stop disabled automatically? I hate having to manually disable after getting in the car in my old f30.

2. Is it possible to always be in sport plus mode automatically? Even on startup so I don't have to switch modes all the time. I would prefer this with my driving style.

Not out of the factory no. I'm sure as more coding options become available for the new model you can get those programmed in but currently there's nothing..

1. should be codeable in the near future
2. I don't think this was ever a coding possibility?

So G20 doesn't have 'remember the last ASS setting' functionality?

Hi ParrotBro. The coding change you’re looking for to start in Sport/Sport+ is:

BDC_BODY3 > 7083 > PfFesMaster > FesPiaDefaultLastUserMode > 01 (Sport) or 02 (Sport+)

You’ll also have the added benefit of starting with Auto Start/Stop turned off. I’ve tested this using E-sys with the current version of Launcher Pro. Oddly, I found this change annoying (fuel economy down from about 36 mpg to about 26 mpg) and reverted it back within two days.

I agree. On my GTIs it would stay in the mode you had it in last.

I know I am in the vast minority but I wish there was a way to enable auto start stop in sport mode. I would love to be able to drive with the dynamics of sport mode but still get the fuel savings and silence at lights when I have the windows down.

Not around the DC area with a billion lights that have you waiting on average 90 seconds. I am idling a large majority of my commute, so right now I either have to drive in comfort or switch drive modes at every light to get ASS. (lol)

Same in seattle. Would love to default to sport (no sport plus on 330i here) and have ASS active.

Does anyone know how to unlock ASS/MSA in sport mode? Defaulting to off is fine but I would love to be able to enable it if I want.

Almaretto Any ideas?

Try Adaptive Mode

For those that want sport performance, but AAD, then put the car in Adaptive mode.

FesPiaDefaultLastUserMode = 0A

sets default to Adaptive. I found it performs closer to Sport mode than Comfort.

Become a Bimmercode tester(write them a email) have a iPhone, and then you can code ASS on/off and in witch driving mode the car should defoult start in.

I assume the folks that want sport mode with auto stop start are folks who don't have adaptive suspension (remember they don't even have the button), because it probably ticks all the boxes that they would want from the combination of ideal features of sport / comfort.

I personally think Adaptive mode is the ideal "overall" (general day to day) driving mode, and makes the car that much closer to perfect.... however it's a bit ridiculous that "adaptive" cannot adapt to the fact that I want auto stop-start to be off by default.
