Tyre replacement

Hi

When getting new tyres do you need to update the idrive, BMW App or does it automatically detect new tyres etc ?

There's a QR code on the sidewall that needs to be scanned in. Alternatively you can select different tyre types and sizes (summer vs winter, etc.) in iDrive, and the app eventually updates. But it won't show detailed info on the specific tyre unless the fitter has scanned that in.
