MyBMW App
Hi
My phone has just updated to the latest MyBMW app version, 3.7 on my Iphone... It now shows the rear tyre service message, did not show it prior to the update, the car has not even synced as its in a garage at home and not been used, and the tyres were all new about 6 months and about 6000/7000 miles ago.. . Will see what it says when I use the car and update apps and service.. Anyone else had this happen? |

Updated mine and all working ok.
Change your tyres to manual instead of automatic in the tyre settings - this may fix it. |

Just checked the rear tyres, nothing wrong with them😠
A new tyre has about 8mm, mine must have at least 6mms maybe a little more after 7000 miles, they are still like new, not 3mm like the app states is the recommended minimum! I have updated the apps and services so will see if it decides to disappear, seem strange how the old app version said all good and immediately after installing the new version 3,.7 the message came up as soon as I opened the app... Just be a glitch with IPhone with latest IOS and the new MyBMW all Messages ConnectedDrive to ask them

Cheaper 'budget' tyres do come with closer to 8mm though usually. I'm guessing the app. is assuming 6mm from new and once it thinks you've hit 3mm (based on mileage/time etc), it flags as needing a check. I just changed my tyre settings to manual and so far its not flagged up as an issue. This is the first update though where its even listed my tyres as a serviceable item, previously they just were not listed at all. Kind of a pointless feature as the car obviously can not tell the tyre wear. Maybe just another way to may a few £ when people assume the app is correct and thinks the tyres are worn. |

Yeah they are star marked tyres and set to automatic by the dealer..
Just seems strange there was no mention prior to the app update and it appeared as soon as the app opened.. The car is sitting in a garage 20 miles away so it was not switched on to send data to BMW besides to me it seemed to happen too quick, updated app, opened and it as there, but not in the old version a few minutes prior.. I will say looking at the tyres there is more than 6mm on them. only done about 7000 miles on them. |

Car is currently in the garage for warranty work so maybe related to that, but suspect issue with the app. My iPhone app, which I've not updated, still displays All Good.

And, your message is rear same as mine , seemed to happen too quick, nothing in the old app then displayed straight away on opening the new one. Will see if they do another update or it fixed itself when I use the car the weekend

In the app I see tyre service OK but when I click through there is just pressure information. However, based on the above comments I think I'm actually pleased about that.
