You take a photo on a dealer lot a dreary day with a crappy camera and F32s will look just as uninspiring. Lol, check out the picture with the blue car, it’s terrible enough that the white car looks 50% wider than the blue...looks like an F32 next to an E36 size wise.

Not the best photos, obviously. The larger grille on the M models looks a bit different and then you have all the other M touches to make it look more as aggressive.

Not saying you're going to necessarily love it, but it will definitely look different enough.

This leak is proof we need to restart 2020.

Looks like the majority fall into 2 camps: those who hate the design and those who love it. Some who love it are saying to those who hate it to hold judgement until you see it for real. Well... here we have one "real" pic of that grille and now you're criticizing the photo, the camera and the weather under which the picture was taken.

If you require a great camera and a perfectly sunny day to see the beauty, then how beautiful is it in the first place?

All I can say is the photos and videos we've seen so far were professionally taken and touched up to make the car looking its very best. Seldom do cars actually end up looking better than what Marketing puts out. If anything, that amateur photo may be the most real pic we've seen so far.

You know full well that's not what people mean when they said you should see it for real. They mean you should see it in the flesh (or in the metal, I suppose), not on some sub-par photo.

You do not require a great camera, nor do you require a sunny day, or a professional photographer to take a good photo.
You do, however, require at the very least a camera that doesn't completely screw up the perspective of said photo.

Having seen the G20 on photos and in real life, I can honestly say that it looks better when you see it in real life.

I dunno man. I've owned nothing but BMWs for the last nearly 20 years and currently own an F82. I've tracked 'em, I've autocrossed 'em and daily drive 'em year round. I go to various BMW CCA events to support the marque. So, I definitely consider myself an enthusiast. And I'm very confident that I will NOT be buying a G82 solely because of the horrific (IMO) design.

Who ever created this watched a lot of Star Wars movies. Reminds me of Darth Vader. Can we have the old one, slightly extend the grills and more tech and carbons. Definitely not my next car, I may go to the other side "P" next time I shop for a car. Looks like Kia to me.

The G80 would have been aesthetically pleasing if the designers had followed the usual formula of taking the 3 Series and making subtle changes.

Dimensional Perspective

I'm going to reserve judgement until I see the car in person. Moving from a 2 dimensional perspective to a three dimensional one can make all the difference...

The overreactions to spy photos and leaks followed by seeing the car in real life and loving the look. Pretty sure we will see the same play out. I personally like the leak and look forward to seeing the full thing
People love the way the 7 series looks? News to me.

So far the LCI 7 Series is outselling the pre-LCI 2016-2019 model. There you have it...

The thing is, ugliness has already been tested with black wheels. There's nothing uglier than black wheels in my eyes yet they're massively popular. A couple of months time, they'll be wanting these ugly grills in their F80/F82's

I think it's time for an M8 and paint the wheels silver for me

Along those lines, I hope they offer a silver wheel option again... I'm tired of black and two-tone black and polished wheels.

I'd really like something along the lines of those 759M wheels on that Oxide Gray M340i to be available on this car.

Absolutely agree, I will never understand that, it worsens the look of every car IMO. I really hope they will finally bring back a proper silver wheel option (unlike the current M2, M5, M8, X3M, X5M... well, actually every current M...).

The usual formula, is taking the 3 series, adding the 3 series coupe or 4 series front to it and then making more subtle changes.

Which is exactly what they are apparently. doing.

I couldn't disagree more. The big grilles look like an after thought to me. I think it's one of the worst looking modern BMWs.

The results of a quick a Google search showed that 2019 7 series sales were ahead of 2018, but are below 2016 and 2017.

This is anecdotal to some extent, but my SA at BMW of Reading told me that 7 series sales over the last 10 or so years are in a downtrend.

People need to realize. W AWD and the amazing S58 engine (which is already out in the X3/X4 M variants). this car will be the most unstoppable, fun four door daily driver on the planet. I'm talking when properly tuned (E85, Downpipes, turbos) we will be seeing 3 second 0-60's and easily 1/4 miles in the 9's. I'm absolutely getting one. And yes I actually love the grilles I'm glad I'll have something that stands out.
