Visually it looks lower and wider by comparison.

I was never a fan of the F series so anything is an improvement. But does anybody else think Audi when they see the taillights?

I think it looks pretty darn good. I saw a blue on at the dealership the other day too. I was never a big fan of the pervious model, except for the F80 and F82.
Glad they didn't saddle the G20 with that G11 front grille design.

Ok. That explains it. Maybe I'm a little excited for the G80 since the release of the X3M/X4M released. I think I'm sold on the new G series. Patiently...holding my MY 2016 F80 trade will be hard waiting for a new G80 M model to reclaim its dominance against the powerful new SAV's. Lol

The G20 looks so much better. The F30 looks outdated compared to it. The G20 looks more sporty and aggressive and stands out more as a BMW. As far as the tail lights Lexus copied BMW in that aspect. If you do your research and look at other models BMW had the L shaped taillights first. Can't wait to order this car next month in the m sport package. The m sport package looks the best. Thinking of getting it in alpine white or the new blue color.

Wow the F30 non-M sport is so ugly compare to the G20.
I am so glad the F30 generation is over now. |

Pointless comparing a sport line F30 with an M Sport G20 as you're not comparing apples with apples. And you need to compare two models in the same or very similar colour too to really compare bodywork

Depending on which picture you are looking at. The car closer to you is larger.

I like it, while the F30 does hold the more classic BMW lines, it does feel dated to me (M-Sport or Sport/Luxury Line) especially when looking at a new C-Class or A4. I think the G20 looks great, and I like that it looks much more modern with sharper lines and creases, while still looking typical BMW. Can't wait for the wife to get her M340i, still having a hard time deciding on which color to get though!

If the next 4 series turns out to be better looking than the current 4, and has better driving dynamics too, then we have much to look forward to

Sure there is a lower spec car vs. a higher spec, but there's no question the G20 is highly improved inside and out.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the F30 was a very half-assed effort by BMW. It did not push the buck forward with exterior/interior design, interior quality, and went into the dungeons with its driving dynamics. It's no wonder BMW lost so much footing in this segment, the F30 won't be missed. |
