Window tinting and instrument dimming

Hi guys. Just picked up my 330i this week and was wanting to get it tinted but I've seen in the general thread a bunch of people with instrument cluster dimming issues with tint. Anyone in Australia got this issue? I'm in Melbourne, any suggestions of a good place to tint?

I went with 38% all around and haven't had any issues at all. I live in Brisbane

No prob with mine
Done via jcare 30% on delivery
The only issue I find is that it isn't that dark despite being "darkest legal"

I have issue with excessive dimming. 3/2019 build car and ceramic tint.

It's not disastrous but certainly would like it to be brighter in certain circumstances, especially when I have my sunglasses on.

The HUD works fine and all the essential info are there anyway.

I think it's pretty subjective
I went to Rayno S9 25%, which is I think the highest IR rejection one for that brand
The cluster def looks a bit less bright and vibrant, but does it make it hard for me to see > no

I went 20% all around and it does make the display hard to see in certain instances how we I find myself always looking at the HUD therefore not a huge concern for me

There has definitely been a couple of guys mentioning a similar experience with dimmed instruments but when wearing polarised sunglasses 😎

I have this dimming of the instrument cluster issue occasionally with a 20% tint on the rear and a 28% tint on the front. It doesn’t happen often. It’s a bit annoying but I have learned to live with it as I mainly use the HUD.

With regard to using sunglasses, polarized sunglasses do not work well with the HUD, so I use non-polarized sunglasses, which work fine.

There is no fix unfortunately, aside from changing your tint to a low (or no) IR blocking type.

I'm in the UK, where the sun only shines on TV 🤷🏻*♂️

It's illegal to tint the front windows over here 👎🏻

My prescription polarised Oakley's make everything clearer 🤓
