So meetup with the OP today and installed the JB+ on my 330 xdrive M-Sport. I intentionally dialed it to around the 2'O Clock position, as originally it was set to 3 o clock position.

Thoughts without JB+:
-In Sport mode, when the car is initially accelerating from stand still and at low speed and rpm, the jerkiness is very apparent, in the lower gears. In Addition, it feels as soon as you let go of the accelerator pedal, the vehicle seems to immediately start to slowly engine break, slowing down the vehicle.

Thoughts with JB+:
-In Sport mode, when the car is initially accelerating from stand still the overall acceleration is slight immediate, but jerkiness is gone. Engine wise, I notice the slight bump in overall acceleration and hear more air moving. However, the vehicle doesn't appear to use the engine break to slow down the speed after releasing the accelerator pedal. (That is more of longer continuous coasting at the designated speed vs immediately start slowly engine break after releasing the accelerator pedal). Once you let go of the accelerator pedal, the vehicle still coasts at the higher speed and does not decelerate as much. Therefore if you want to slow down more immediately, you need to press down more and use of the brake pedal.

The active sound is more apparent at higher RPMS and Speed than before JB+

Has anyone used a boost gauge after they installed their JB+? I have the MX+ OBD Bluetooth adapter I tried using (it has a boost gauge in the app). Stock I was reading a steady 16psi (2022 330I). I installed the JB+ (3psi, 3pm position) and the boost gauge is reading as high as 23psi. The boost curve shows when I floor it that it hits 22-23psi for 1000rpm's and then drops down to a steady 18-19psi after that. The power feels great, no lag or sputtering or engine codes; I'm just very hesitant to keep the JB+ on when it's showing 7psi above my stock boost levels.

I’m literally in the same position contemplating on putting a JB+ on my leased 21 330. Since it’s been a few years since this post, would you mind mentioning if you did end up going with the JB+, and how that experience was? Also, if there were any problems with servicing or returning the lease. Thanks

That spike when you floor the throttle is normal. Unfortunately, with the jb+, there's nothing you can do about it. As long as it doesn't stay at 23psi all the time and is just a spike when you floor it, you're good. 18-19psi is good and your car will handle that easily without any issues.

Thanks! This post is from February of last year. I've had the JB+ on for about a year/15K miles since then and no issues at all or anything since I've installed

If you can splurge for the JB4, do it. It's the best piggyback out there at the moment. If not, the JB+ offers great bang for the buck, especially compared to other piggybacks if you don't want to log (though you should log your car if you have poor quality fuel or want to get more out of your car). No worries with installing it on a leased car. They might be able to flag you (my car was flagged with a JB4 on it) but you won't have issues during lease return.

I don't know how I missed that post after yours and only saw yours and assumed that was the latest post. My bad!

You have no idea how helpful that was. Just took over somebody’s lease on a 21’ 330 and been paranoid about putting a piggyback on it but you just reassured me.

I ended up buying the Dinan Sports tuner the other day, only because of the ability to switch modes via an app.

Once again, thanks

Yup, no issues whatsoever with the JB+ while servicing and trading in the lease. I remember that before my lease ended I took off the JB+, and could really tell the difference without it. Obviously, BM3 is superior, but JB+/JB4 are the way to go if leasing.

My impressions:

It feels like I have an "M335i" comparing it directly to an X2 M35i.

It took around 5 minutes to install, however removing the clip can be an incredible pain in the ass if you don't have the right tool, the YouTube video made it look very easy unfortunately.

For $250 shipped, it's by the far the most no-brainer mod you can get.

Friend installed it in his Cooper S, and now his feels like a JCW.

You really do feel like you have 300ish HP and 350 lb/ft of tq...running on 93 gas and Burger Tuning intake silencer delete which helps too.

Does anyone have any information about installing a JB+ on a 320i/420i? The version I have only has a normal air cooled intercooler (no water cooled cooler). Would love some feedback if anyone has installed a JB+ on this engine!

Update: I have it set to the Max Setting

With my current setup, it definitely feels about as powerful as an Audi S4....which is good enough for me

Nice. How is the drivability? Is there pronounced lag/loss of pedal feel?
