The technical data for the new 330e was just released on the BMW website and to my surprise the curb weight of this new 330e is 1815kg, which is only 30kg lighter than the 530e, and also 80 kg heavier than the old 330e.

Isn't the G20 supposed to be lighter than the F30?

To me this weight of 1815 kg makes no sense. How can it only weight 30 kg less than the 530e which uses the same engine, gearbox and batteries?

more standard equipment than last model.

the 530e has the 7.8kwh battery right now , no doubt itll weigh more too once it gets the 12kw battery

Only real comparison is 'apples with apples'. For example:

German spec' G20 330i is 25kgs lighter than the German spec' F30 330i, according to DIN/EU standard for unladen weight.

All I can feel on my F30 330e is the weight in the corners. It's the reason I ordered my G20 as a 330i. Looking forward to delivery next week 😊
