Hey Guys,
Complete noob here. Just took over a lease of somebody's 2021 330i xdrive. 15 months left. I'm completely new to BMW. My only car history is I had a modded Acura Type S prior but that's all. I had a few questions for all of you who have much more experience than me: 1. Which tune would you recommend I get? in terms of what gives the most power, as well as not being an issue with the lease. 2. Which performance mods, asides from a tune, are most worth it? (biggest bang for your buck) 3. Which mods should I get to have a great sounding exhaust? while also having the option to be able to put everything back to stock when it's time to return the lease. Also wanted to mention I’m super excited to be part of the G20 community |

There are two types of tunes, piggybacks and flash tunes. Powerwise, both will offer the same gains on a simple setup like yours.
If your DME is not locked, get a flash tune like the bootmod3. If your DME is not locked, get the Jb4 Piggyback. You can check whether your DME is locked by connecting to the bm3 software and sending your dme version number to PTF (no purchase required). The downpipe is the second-best upgrade you can do to increase power. I recommend Dinan or REMUS exhausts.

Thank you so much for the thorough reply Mike! I will be taking all that into account. Another question, would having the catted autoworke downpipe pose an issue with the dealer, when I go to service the car during the lease?
Also, if I were to get a JB+, how long prior to dealer service should I remove it? Thanks so much, means a lot as I’m enthusiastic about getting involved in the G20 modding community. |
