Negotiating on a pre-owned CPO car?
Hello all. Found a CPO car I'm interested in. Only issue is that the bmw dealer selling it is asking way over what they're going for. Car has been on lot for 2-3weeks. Has anyone had luck negotiating a better price via phone? Looking to call them in the morning and see what they can do for me and if it works out, finance through them and fly out and drive it back.
Thanks for any feedback, sorry if this is the wrong forum. New here lol. Last edited by Hoping4Dravit; 01-27-2023 at 11:12 PM.. |

I know you may be reluctant to share a link for fear of someone stealing it from you (I understand, because I’m in the process of buying a Dravit Grey myself even as we speak. Fortunately for me we have made a deal and a deposit has been made), but if you’d like to we might be able to give you some advice based on what we see.

Wow!! That’s an eye popping original sticker price!! I’m sure that’s the reason for the high asking price. Yeah, that accident report is a little daunting.
I’ll tell you about my 2006 E90 330i. It started out life as a BMW executive car and apparently that executive had a wreck with it. I didn’t find out until after I had purchased it. Someone left some body shop paperwork in the glove box. It was some pretty extensive damage to a large section of the passenger side of the car. I would have to say the repair was flawless. If I hadn’t come across the repair receipt I would never have known. Maybe a paint thickness meter would have told on it, but the repair and the paint work were absolutely perfect. The color was Sonora Beige (kind of gold-ish). It was not an easy color to match. It matched perfectly. So, all that said to say it is possible to make a repair so close to as good as new that it is imperceptible.
