There is misinformation out there. You do need a package with the hardware.

Models like the iX3 have the option to upgrade to M Adaptive, but the base adaptive is already there and active. You simply pay for added features.

I downloaded mini guides for 3 or 4 of the available online services. Lemme see if I can find those. I just changed out my laptop, so I might have to break out the old one and look. Pretty sure those were PDF files. That's where I found details about which vehicles support each specific function.

So is this a case where the hardware is already there but disabled? This sounds like the subscription stuff is already happening. Reminds me of when games shipped on CDs with the DLC already on them requiring you to "purchase the DLC" in order to 'activate' it. I guess it's a nice idea for a future owner or if the original owner changes their mind.

It's hard to tell if this was European-only or not but obviously they are targeting advertising to us here in the states now, or it would not have appeared in the Roundel. My 430iX GC went into production today without it (last of the supply chain shortages?), and I'm hoping that I can enable it later. Dynamic Handling (ZDH) is not available in the 4 series right now, either.

Personally wouldn’t by an Mxxx car without adaptive suspension. My current car has it in my last car did not. Huge difference in my opinion.

Get it, I had it on an older gen F30 335i (the classic 6cyl turbo 330hp), that car always handled well and never felt harsh on SoCal roads and bumps. Difference is even smaller if leasing. Test drive the standard Msport suspension and if you find it somewhat harsh/too responsive, you have the answer.

Getting an approval from the seller is the worst, they make money/commission on every $. Would you like an additional strawberry with sparkles on your cake for $5 extra?
