Literally the worst design I have ever seen. Nissan Juke level fuck up on the front end here BMW
Don't talk about the Juke like that!

Maybe the Pontiac Aztec
lol. I actually don't mind the Juke, considering who the car was made for. This car was made for those who have come to expect a certain level of refinement, class, and sneaky daring in the design of BMWs.

Well, this was daring alright... Now it's simply daring to alienate its core consumer base. It's shit.

The VP of Sales needs to go above Dukec's head and remind the brand's leaders the first rule of retail... The customer is always right. Eclectic designers are going to tank the sales of this car.

Modern BMW’s look bad on smaller wheels, but the black car is horrific. When Porsche released the 996 it was not well received, but it sold 3x it’s predecessor, but Porsche listened and fixed the headlight issue with the 997.

For me my list of next car has gone from only the G82 to RS5, C63s, X3M, used M5C, used 911 (hopefully 992 C2S). Should have been easy money for BMW.

What a masterpiece, BMW have absolutely nailed this! The grill could be a bit more present though in my opinion, easily overlooked.

So sad. Currently own an M2 and was considering getting the next M4 but... I just can't bring myself to go down this route. It's horrible.

I am hoping they won't ruin the next M2 in the same way. If they do, that's it. I'm moving to Porsche, maybe next Toyota Supra, maybe Audi... heck, anything but this monstrosity.

Tough crowd.. all base spec bimmers don't look great. To me, the black with chrome could work with larger, silver wheels; the blue looks pretty good but the white is my least favorite of the bunch.

Some of you guys act like this car slept with your wife.

That's not a very basic e92, that's a 335i with sport wheels; essentially, the M440i of the e92 era. That black 4er one is a bare bones 420i most likely with the smallest, fleet wheels offered. Not a fair comparison, IMO.

EDIT: I do agree though that the e92 is a way better looking design, though.

If you just paint that gap below the grill on the M Sport variants:

Or add the license plate holder in the same colour to split the grills:

It might actually look a little bit better

I am so confused. Clearly my first reaction is of her and discussed. I don't want BMW to make cars where I have to strain and learn to accept and love them, eventually. I wish they would go back to designs that made people fall in love with them immediately.

Thought the black would hide things more but if anything it somehow makes it look worse! Looks like it has an anteater snout pointing downwards.

The design is absolutely horrendous and anyone thinking about it looking any better with a front license plate, and in darker colours are only kidding yourselves.

I think somebody at BMW is back at his old job, accepting his raise.

This has to be the best mole action ever.

Just saw some G22 design sketches ... seems like there's some kind of disconnect happening between the sketch stage and prototypes/production models (even taking into consideration that design sketches are typically exaggerated and unrealistic). I was really surprised at how much I liked it at the sketch stage, when I don't like it at all as prototype/production model.

Seems like other companies are more successfully translating ideas and prototypes into production reality.

I've noticed this with other BMWs - like the European F20. At the time I was surprised at how unattractive it was, but I thought in the design sketch it looked pretty cool.

The wheels are literally smaller than the grill...
