I have a lot of trouble liking the design of this car. It's lost a lot of the design elements that are characteristically BMW—particularly the Hofmeister kink. The rear 3/4 of the car doesn't even look like a BMW anymore—it looks like an Infiniti or other Japanese car.

Really disappointed with this and other recent BMW designs: The 3 looks Japanese to me, the 2 Gran Coupe looks like a Hyundai or Kia in its proportions, and now this?

Hate to say it but I think BMW's SUVs are the best looking cars they make atm.

I'm sorry BMW but no more videos or photos can justify that grill design.

The grills still aren't large enough. I propose this render for the LCI.

Actually I think the front looks the best from this angle.
But then the back looks bad.

So looks like you will have trouble running a tow hook licence plate holder here in the US with how close that tow hook location is to the front parking sensor (passenger side of the grille). Definitely looks like it would get blocked by the plate and inadvertently set it off

I gotta admit the more I look at it the uglier it gets.
It just looks like a mish-mash of other cars to voltron itself to the amalgamation of what you see before you.

I sold my '16 435 M Sport and got an X3 M40. I'm thinking I should have hung onto my 435 as I suspect that generation is now appreciating in value!

Looked great in the dimly lit, abandoned warehouse.

Couldn't even see the grill

Now can plainly see two sensors on either side of the grille. Makes it look even worse if thats possible.

This is like a social experiment for BMW executives.... "Watch this, I bet we will still sell tons of these thing if we made it look ugly as Hell...."

The front grill and license plate - whether EU or US spec - have very little chance to peacefully coexist and create visual harmony.

The only salvation for US plates is a tow hook mount with its own set of proponents and detractors.
