I do have a Racechip GTS+ App from my previous car that came with 1 free reprogram. Just had to pay $20 to get a new adapter harness.
Still have not installed it 8 months later :-(
Likely because I have a short 5-8 mile commute each way so only driven 300 miles using ICE compared to 3200 miles on Electric

Finally did connect the Racechip GTS and have started "training" it in the Racechip "SPORT" mode (only have US 91 octane here = EU95)
Only have a 5 mile commute on suburban streets so hard to do WOT to train programming :-)

So far, the few times I have floored it in Xtraboost from standstill it takes off like a BANCHEE with that instant 100hp/252Nm from zero

Based upon training the Racechip GTS in my previous car it will take a month or so to get it optimized assuming I "train" it often

A couple of WOT runs is all it needs to adapt. Doesn't need a month or so unless you drive very little on open roads and a lot in traffic.

No open roads and just 45mph suburban roads in SE Phoenix AZ with occasional police bikes stopping speeders due to resident complaints.

Longer trips done in wife's "castrated" X45e.
I say "castrated" because, like my 330e, BMW NA restricts useable battery to 70% of capacity rather than 90% in RoW so we lose over 10 miles of range on her car. (thats another thread on Bimmerpost)

Makes sense why you need a longer time for the DME to adjust. Time to move to a small town far away from civilization so you have access to long empty backroads!

Do you guys know if there are any other differences between the B48B20B in the 30i and in the 30e besides it being de-tuned via the software, like are there any hardware differences?

I am considering buying a 30e and want to know if there are any differences, and also, if there are any ways to accurately tell if I have the B or the A variant.
Is bimmercat 100% accurately if I go and check the short engine code? I also have access to TecDoc Catalogue as I own a car parts store, would it be more accurate?

Ask for a photo of the engine code, it's in the engine bay and easily seen once you remove the plastic beauty cover.

23 years ago I did that for 7hrs a day for 2 years around Southern CA while working for BMW Engineering as a durability driver. Hence the last line in my signature as I drove the prototypes of the E46 M3, E39 M5 and original X5 (which was a V8). Hills north of Los Angeles and up and around Big Bear lake at 6am in the morning was amazing.

Engine block code is VERY easy to find to determine A or B

Be aware this is a 200 Kg heavier car so it is almost identical in feel to having 2 x 6' guys sitting in the back seat.
There is a bonus to that in that it rides like a bigger car but if you are buying one try to get the adaptive suspension to smooth out the ride as every ridge can be felt on the optional 19" wheels with run flats

Yes, I know that, but for the bonus Hp and acceleration I'd still take it over a 30i.

The easiest way to determine the code of the engine it to consult with CoC line 21 - just started to ask the code from the seller and already got 3 negative (20a) replies for German xdrive touring dated earlier than 10/2020:-(

Seems to need to switch to smth like m340d while it was so exited to dream about PHEV with good dynamics and driving abilities...
